Question: when you log on to your Princeton portal, does it just show a message saying your application is complete and nothing else? Just wondering because it’s different from the portals of all the other school I applied to.
@kuriosmind I believe so. It is like that for me too. They set up a “normal” portal later I thought.
@kuriosmind same for me, it is weird but I guess that’s what it’s like!
@APersonalHistory @vossari I see. Thanks guys.
@kuriosmind I think Princeton maybe won’t update their website at all. Instead of a checklist like on other schools’ portals, I think “Your application is complete” means that everything is checked off and if something’s missing Princeton would contact you directly. They’ll of course use a different web address/site for decisions.
Someone at my school said they got in. Any idea how?
@LAforDuke perhaps they got a likely letter?
@Ballerina11 and @LAforDuke For any applicant to truthfully say “they got in” outside of an SCEA acceptance in December, they will have had to have rec’d a Likely Letter. There are no official offers given between SCEA notification and “Ivy Day” (i.e. Mar 31st).
I thought Princeton only gave LLs to recruited athletes?
@TheWaffleMan149, as I have explained before what happens is that the Ivies and most prestigious universities have agreed to all release their decisions at the end of March for some reason, so what they do now is they send out likely letters of a sort, basically they’re usually a letter from whomever read your application letting you know they loved it. In that way they’re basically letting you know that you’ve been accepted, without completely confirming it.
No, but I have heard from multiple places that Princeton only sends out athletic likelies.
@TheWaffleMan149 Athletes or QuestBridge applicants (as according to other multiple places)
Paint is right @TheWaffleMan149
Hi just wondering how to let admissions know about a new award I received?
Unless it is really really really important, dont
Hey there,
Long time listener, first time caller.
Princeton decides on March 31. Does that mean kids get an email that day, or a letter in the mail that day, or it is sent out by mail from Princeton on March 31, so that letters arrive at home a couple days later?
@collegedad66 on the 31st you’ll log in and check your portal, not sure the time though
Thanks @greeny8–just the info I was looking for.
I just got another email from Princeton fin aid about forms that weren’t received (thought I sent them; apparently not). Since it’s so close to the decision date, and they’re still badgering me about fin aid, does this mean anything…?
@glasshours I got a similar email today too. Those were my first hopes as well but I can’t give a 100% certain answer that it means anything
