Princeton RD 2020 thread

@tamales it could definitely be a sign of something good, or they were simply impressed by the things she said, which of course would help your application. Either way, I wouldn’t read it as a likely letter, but I do think it means they were genuinely impressed by what your teacher wrote

@vossari Thanks for your input  I’m trying to avoid getting my hopes up too much because this process has yield some less than satisfactory results so far. But I can’t help but feel like it’s a promising sign

@tamales - I submitted one extra recommendation. I think it was a good choice for me.

@JungleJim4232 So I called today and they said they had my things, and I did receive the email so idk what is going on

Btw the UPS mytracker thing for WashU worked, so overanalyzing is perfectly ok

@tamales my PI from lab sent a letter too; idk if he got an email back; but Ik that Brown sent back a physical letter thanking him

do we know if the UPS tracker works for any other schools?

@exl028 hmm… maybe it’s just a convention to do so then. (but hopefully it means something good for us!) also, random side comment, I’ve seen some of your other posts and you seem like a very strong candidate  congrats on all your achievements so far and good luck moving forward!

@layla2016 @TheWaffleMan149 What is the UPS mytracker?

@tamales I don’t know either, but I don’t think they received an email! and I’d take it as a good sign if they replied with a personal email

ya could someone please explain the UPS tracker thing?

Basically someone had signed up for this thing called UPS myTracker, which lets them know if they have any packages coming to their house. They got a notification that they had a package coming from the WashU admissions office, and posted about it here. Naturally, other people signed up, and some had it and some didn’t. Apparently, it foretold who would be accepted and who wouldn’t. Of course, that is because they mailed the packages several, several hours before decisions

how can you do that without a tracking number?

@trinity16 I’m assuming waffleman is speaking about the My USPS (which i just signed up for lol) and since all mail have to be scanned at different post offices during its journey, they know if there’s any mail that’s en route to your mailing address.

Hey guys, I’m Australian, so does this whole My USPS thing work for me???

@hiddenfalls probably not. when i signed up they said only some zip codes are eligible and also it’s USPS (united states postal service)

@JungleJim4232 haha thanks! i just signed up too…do you have any packages because I don’t :frowning:
