Princeton RD 2020 thread

@JungleJim4232 Haha that’s what I thought! Just checking, and still hoping… And with all those UPS and USPS acronyms everything just blurs together…

I just signed up UPS and USPS and opened push notifications & SMS notifications…

It wasn’t usps, it is UPS my choice. If someone creates a label to be sent to your address it will notify you that you have a shipment. You can sign up even if you don’t live there. It gives you a two week window of any pkgs being shipped to that address. Hope that helps!

@greeny8 thank you so much! how do you view the shipments after you sign up? is it the calendar thing? do you have any shipments coming to you?

There is a calendar view and if you have a package it will show up. I have nothing showing up for this week (but I just had a package delivered today and it was on the calendar.

would colleges send out the material this far in advance?

I didn’t apply to WashU…did they send a huge package to accepted students? Why use UPS if it’s just the acceptance materials?

@hiddenfalls where in Australia do you live?

@exl028 I’m West Coast! Socal to be more precise. Anyways, it a chemical/biomolecular engineering lab at UCLA and the project I’m assisting in goes hand-in-hand with tissue engineering/neuroscience. What’s your lab like?

@Anonymoose3 sorry I missed your comment earlier, but I agree - though Princeton make it seem like they really didn’t want any supplementary material, I feel like the additional letter helped to add another dimension to my application.

@JungleJim4232 Thanks for letting me know! Ahhhh I’m freaking out I don’t know if I can make it another 10 days. Best of luck!

Do all the ivies send letters through UPS?

Only Wash U sends these UPS packages. All the ivies announce through portals. Paper letters don’t go out until the next week. There is no point in signing up for UPS my choice for these schools… You will not receive any advance knowledge.

@tamales I’m from socal too. I work at a lab at USC everyday. I work with animals mostly mice. I have alot of projects but for the most part I focus on stem cells in their role in injury repair. I’m about to publish too. I sent them an email back in the beginning of March but I’m not sure if they added it as they never sent an email to confirm.

@exl028 That’s crazy! We’re so close and our projects are somewhat similar. My PI is looking at the role of a biomaterial scaffold in stroke recovery. That’s super exciting that you’re about to publish - congrats on that!

@LasagneMoodAF Sydney!

@tamales im so nervous!!good luck to you too! i applied to Brown’s PLME program too

@exl028 They must have updated your file, don’t worry. I had sent an update regarding my participation in some recent MUNs and some other stuff around the 13th of March, and they replied by 15th that they had added it to my file and the regular thank you message.
So I guess they added your info too, and maybe forgot to reply in confirmation.

@hiddenfalls No way! What school are you at? I went to Shore. Do you know it?

The Ivies do send you a packet if you are admitted. My D was admitted SCEA a couple of years ago. She got a package in the mail 2 days later so it was likely mailed the same day admission decision came out on the portal. I think it came UPS but couldn’t swear to it.

@blazedragon I hope so! because I sent really important info that could make a difference. I know that financial aid did not reply when i sent them paperwork but they have my stuff…
also you sent it to this email right : uaoffice@princeton.edu

@exl028 Yeah, that’s right  I sent it to that email id only. Don’t worry too much about it. But if you want, you can bug them a bit by asking whether the update had been considered or not. They will certainly answer
