Princeton RD 2020 thread

But in the end, all speculation draws to naught, as these admissions always have a way to surprise people :smiley: :))
But it’s always funny to see people put forward crazy theories :))
And I hope @lalalalaa , you were just being sarcastic with the email having a period right? Because that would be pushing it if you were serious! :wink:
And @mprut0987 thanks! I just realised the HP reference once when I posted on here about the apps being “pieces of my soul”, which immediately reminded me of Horcruxes :stuck_out_tongue: (And unfortunately, two Horcruxes have already been destroyed, and the third one is in limbo. I hope the Princetonian Horcrux survives the ordeal :wink: )

@blazedragon Hahaha ofc! That theory is even more ridiculous than the Vanderbilt/ digits at the end of the link thing from a few days ago!

@lalalalaa
It had a period. Just a copy paste thing however, the text in the first paragraph were all in color blue (LoL. JUST KIDDING!!!).

@vossari Relax (both ways ! And .) :bz

@vossari thank you for that

When you realize you’re literally going to be out of town with no internet access on Ivy day :slight_smile:

@ronniecat when you realize you live in Europe and you’ll be sleeping (if you manage to fall asleep) on Ivy day :slight_smile:

So I received two identical emails on March 7 and March 18, both asking for my parents’ tax returns and W-2s. Is there a correlation here to admissions or is it just a general thing that they do?

Did anyone get these emails?

@orionsagittarius back in february 19, I received an email saying that I was missing my pfaa application, and I later submitted the forms and I haven’t gotten any emails since. I heard it has some correlation with acceptance.

@Californian10 : same thing happened to me (PFAA request) and my parents submitted the PFAA but no tax docs. At this point, I’m not sure if there’s a correlation or not. I guess we’ll find out next week!

Judging from the threads of years past, there appears to be a reasonable correlation.

@foodlover001 let’s hope for the best!

I’m not trying to be a downer, but I got the email in February, on the 19th about missing financial aid docs and I am 99.9999% sure I’m not getting in. I don’t think the emails mean anything really. If they did that would be great, but I don’t think it’s for sure. Good luck!!

In the last couple of years there has seemed to be a strong correlation between getting a request close to the deadline i.e. mid-late March and being either accepted or waitlisted

I agree that if you got the email in March, especially Mid to late March then there’s definitely a correlation bc I doubt they would waste time with that stuff if you were going to be rejected anyway. I’m gonna use this opportunity to criticize the U.S. a bit (groundbreaking, I know). I don’t see how a uni can call itself ‘need-blind’ and ask for financial aid info when you apply. If it were truly need-blind, they would accept students and then ask if they need financial aid later, and make the appropriate offers. Possibly some drawbacks with this, and I believe Princeton can be quite generous with FA, but just offering an opinion here.

Yeah I just find it difficult to believe that they’d ask for aid documents at this stage if they didn’t actually need it to calculate aid for admitted/waitlisted (WL to a lesser extent) students. Why bother everyone involved if it doesn’t matter?

I’m just holding out a ton of hope.

wait so if were not asked the FA stuff (I’m international) then that means its a rejection? D: D: but I sent in all the FA stuff they required! why would they ask me for more cries

I wasn’t even asked to do whatever the PFAA thing was! :’( :’(

@Marcelleparcelle If you did all that was required then you wouldn’t have received an email.

On your PFAA, does it say that you are enrolled for the 2016-2017 school year? It has mine check marked.

@Californian10 : I don’t remember what mind said but I think what they mean is that the PFAA is for the 2016-2017 academic year if you’re accepted. The info you put it in will apply to next year if you get in and receive aid.
