Prospective Transfer

Hello all,

I recently applied as a sophomore transfer student for the Fall 2013 semester, but I have one major concern. As I have sent in all required documents and my application continues to be updated, every section of the college proficiency skills is marked "satisfied" except my math. To be honest I lack in math and my SAT math score was under the 21. I however, completed and passed Developmental Math 2 and Math Liberal Arts 1 my freshman year. My question is to my understanding Dev Math 2 would not count as being apart of the required "six semester hours", so would my best bet be to take Math Liberal Art 2 this summer and reapply for the Spring 2014 semester? My major is Political Science btw, and I have a cumulative gpa of 3.65, but I highly doubt FSU will accept me because of my math courses.

How close are you to getting your AA? It’s significantly easier to transfer to FSU with your AA- mostly because you don’t have to then meet the SAT/ACT requirements.

It might be a good idea to wait until you’d have completed your AA before applying to transfer to FSU.

I 100% agree with Pasbal. Take that advice, you won’t regret or have to stress about an acceptance here of you just get your AA and above a 3.0.
I’m pretty sure PoliSci is limited accessed but keep pulling up your GPA you’ll have a better chance as an AA transfer than someone who isn’t.

Thanks for all of the advice! I’m actually at the nearby university, Florida A&M. Surprisingly Poly Sci isn’t a limited access major/program.
