Prospective University of Washington, Winter 2016 transfers?

@dubsup you may be right that few have been notified! There’s only been one ‘wave’ on here. My adviser said that most people hear towards the end of November.

My adviser also said that I am a really strong applicant and stuff like that, which really made me feel better! And we also discussed the appeal option. I recommend having a chat with your adviser if you haven’t heard back yet, if for no other reason than emotional support. Haha

@BluMickey Yes, on last year’s thread.

@snailshellz Don’t sweat it! You have great stats, you’ll be fine

I really appreciate all of your guys opinions and responses! I’m glad this forum picked up for sure. Everyone has very valid points and I hope you all get in. I agree, I hope, and I am pretty sure that there has to be another wave of notifications. @Akeating Nope still here waiting with you hah. I’m also still checking my mail every day for a rejection letter.

I also agree with whomever said it, this years notifications have started to vary from last year and seem to be and even LONGER wait. Still hopeful but I will be honest I have started to doubt myself and getting accepted a little more.

If it makes you all feel any better at all, I still haven’t received my letter either. My transcript loaded on myuw, but that could simply mean that I was one of the first applicants they reviewed in this current wave they are going through. On previous threads, not everyone saw their transcript at the same time but they still received their letters around the same time. Like Akeating said, I am a general admissions applicant, I did not apply to any major, so that may make a difference in timing. If you have completed an Associate’s degree, have a reasonably good GPA, are currently in a Washington State CC, and have taken classes towards your major, you are in extremely good shape.

I have a huge knot in my stomach because I really do feel like UW is the school for me. However I don’t think I will end up attending. Hopefully I can for grad school

I am GA with non-competitive major choice, CC transfer with 3.8 GPA and AA earned. Still no letter!!! My transcript loaded up on Monday. I am surprised that they haven’t mailed them yet, but then again, we are dealing with USPS as well (: Just keep your head up; nobody knows the mysterious ways this all goes about. Nothing is done 'till the fat lady sings!

@NineBe What does it list as your student status on MyUW? Does it list your major and that you’re matriculated?

only my major and student ID , that has obviously been assigned as well as my foreign language and math proficiency levels! Now I am freaking out LOL. all of my records are available to me though, even my CC transcript. Does your show something else??

and I can see that they are working on my Financial Aid as well. stastu changed from “You have not been awarded anything yet” to “Your application for financial aid is being reviewed.
If we had previously offered you aid we may need to revise it. You will be able to review your award here in one week.
For your information. We have completed a review of your application and you have been awarded financial aid.”

@NineBe Nothing… I just have general info on myuw-- not the details you have.

It’s pretty obvious you’ve been admitted. I assume the same info is showing to other applicants who’ve had their transcripts load.

I don’t know why they even bother to tell us to wait for the letters when applicants can so easily find out they’ve been admitted in this very obvious way. And I think it’s in poor form to make this info accessible to some applicants and not others before sending us the letters. Seems to needlessly stir up anxiety.

I have a feeling this will drag out, but than again, we need to register on Monday!!! I am still not announcing my acceptance without the official letter and its killing me. Just stay positive

For those of you who’s transcripts have loaded - on myuw at the bottom where you can view your application. If you click on your application, does the message at the stop still read “Thank you for applying…You will be notified by postal mail when a decision has been made…” or did it change to something referencing an acceptance?

@uw2016nm Mine still says “Thank you for applying… You will be notified by postal mail…” It hasn’t changed at all. The only difference is now when I click ‘unofficial transcript,’ my transcript comes up. Everything else is the same

@Leibnizzzzz Does yours say that your application for financial aid has been reviewed and they’ve awarded you financial aid (as NineBe’s does)? The financial aid office won’t review and award financial aid unless someone has been accepted. That’s just a fact. I know it’s just standard procedure for financial aid offices at all schools-- you don’t get awarded aid unless you’re admitted. So getting this info from the financial aid office is like getting a letter of acceptance, for sure.

yeah, I think financial aid (taken you submitted your FAFSA to UW) is a better trick than the transcript. and I get the same msg as you guys “thank you blah blah…”

@qwertyytrewq2 I actually never applied for financial aid, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you, sorry haha. But what the unofficial transcript does list is my student number, it says I’m in the College of Arts and Sciences, my major is Pre Science, and at the bottom it has a table listing:
UW credits attempted 0.0
UW grades attempted 0.0
UW grade point average 0.00
etc.

so it really looks like they have prepared for my transfer there. They have given me a student number and there is a place for my UW grade point average and everything

Is there still hope for me if I don’t see my transcript load? :[ Has there ever been a case where your transcript doesn’t load but you got in??

@Frenchtoast1996 Yeah, you shouldn’t worry until either it’s Dec. 4 (or thereabouts) and you still haven’t heard anything, or until you receive your rejection letter. This is what I heard from my advisor. There are random waves of admission decisions sent out throughout the month and as Liment’s experience shows, the folks at UW are still reviewing applications. Nothing is over yet, even though it seems late in the game!

To answer your other question, some people on past threads (and I think even one guy in here!) claimed to get a letter but not have their transcript load.

The message just changed to: Congraduations! We are proud to offer you admission…

@Dawg2015 did you apply for just general admissions or into a major?

I’m an Econ major but I don’t actually apply for the major until after being admitted.
