@sonicnation95 are you an out-of-state student? ?? I still haven’t gotten a rejection letter but I think theveryone admissions has passed
Did anyone else get their financial aid offers?? Mine was…um…nothing
Fortunately I do have a lot of my tuition, at least for Winter and Spring, covered. I’m gonna be eating lots of beans and rice in the coming months though hahaha.
Any of you guys stressed about paying for UW or do you have everything sorted out already? Especially for the out of state students, getting $10k for the OOS tuition together in a month must be scary!
@Akeating Oh ok that’s good to hear that you already have most of your prereqs done!
With regards to the running start and summer credits: I think you’re referring to UW’s Satisfactory Progress policy. You have to finish your degree within 12 quarters or 210 credits, whichever is last, but they don’t count Running Start or summer quarters towards the 12 quarter limit.
I looked on the UW website though and you CAN request an extension on the 105 credit rule! @Leibnizzzzz https://www.washington.edu/students/reg/regpol.html#105
I don’t think you should count out UW yet!!
My message on the front page under Check Your Application Information has changed to:
“We have received undergraduate admission application(s) for one or more UW campuses and/or programs below. To view your application information, click on the appropriate link.”
from the original message of we will notify you by mail when we decision has been made. But still…no transcript has loaded lol I’m extremely nervous and back and forth on what it means. No rejection letter in the mail either.
@snailshellz I did not get any financial aid offers yet, is their a way to check online? and im from California and I don’t know how I am going to come up with the 10K in a month. Is there a way to extend that or something? Thanks
@kedillor I got an email from the Office of Student Financial Aid telling me about my aid offer and it also shows up when I click Financial Aid Status on myUW.
UW is really stingy with aid IMO especially with OOS students. Good luck with figuring everything out!
Weird that my aid offer shows up, which only happens if you’re admitted, but my status says “thank you blah blah” still (no congrats yet). UW’s system is slow as molasses in updating that stuff
@snailshellz &@Akeating thanks for all the information about exceptions to the rule!! I had no idea about it before! I just finished setting up a time I can speak with an advisor, I want to ask them exactly how much time they can offer me to complete my prereqs before I need to apply for my program. I earned all my credits through Running Start and Summer classes, so hopefully they can give me some good news ;))
Also, it still says “Thank you for applying…” for me as well and my transcript loaded last Tuesday. I received an email from UW yesturday that discussed housing options for incoming Transfer Students
So this happened:
“Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of Washington for winter quarter 2016. A complete packet of information about admission and enrollment is mailed approximately 5 - 10 days from the date your admission status was updated in our data base. Please allow sufficient time for the mail to reach you, especially if you live outside of Washington state.”
This is proof that UW’s system is really weird and updates randomly. Like this just happened sometime between 8pm and 1am on a Sunday night.
One of my UW goals is now to figure out how the frick this whole process works.
Same thing happened to me! I’m in also! @snailshellz Future Transfers: Stay away from forums it will just give you unnecessary strew and anxiety! This process is too weird to compare yourself to others!
Hi all, do you know if there’s ever been a case where the congrats message doesn’t show up, but an acceptance letter still came in the mail? The transcript trick doesn’t work on me since I already have a transcript from taking some classes over the summer. :-S I have been stressing sooo much over it.
Has anybody received the letter yet? I am bummed I can’t register for classes yet because the enrollment acceptance that hasn’t arrived yet. After, we have to do orientation for at least one full day before we can register…that sucks, especially that it has been a week since I got in and yet to receive a letter
@wintertransfer2016 there have been people who received an acceptance letter before their transcript ever loaded. sonicnation95 was one of those people. He/she received a letter a couple days ago. Don’t stress unless you receive a rejection letter!
@NineBe I received my letter on Saturday, my transcript loaded last Tuesday
Thanks @Leibnizzzzz , I am hoping to see it today, it really annoying (:
@dubsup That’s very odd! Have you heard anything yet?
@ninebe I have not received the purple packet they talk about in the congrats message yet either, don’t worry! I am planning to drive to the UW admissions office to pay my NSEOF and register for an A&O as soon as I can. Pretty sure all of the classes I need are full at this point
Hi guys! I am so glad this forum exists because I am so confused. It seems like the meat of the helpful information here is buried over a lot of posts so if someone who has been active could just answer my questions at once so I can be clear that would be AMAZING.
So I am an instate student transferring from a higher ranked 4 year university in Washington, D.C. and also bringing running start credits. GPA 3.7, lots of extra curricular stuff blah blah.
I haven’t received anything at all via email etc. It seems like you guys are saying if you go on your NetID account and look at your credits that will tell you if you got in? How can you tell? Also how do they email you? Straight to your email or through that UW email they had you set up? I had mine forward everything to my regular email but I’m worried I would miss it anyway.
I can’t figure out what my NetID password and ID is and am frantically trying to figure it out. Feeling a mess.
It seems like all the other instate students have received something. Could someone please help me get my bearings?
Okay so to update, I made it into my UW account and it says “Thank you for applying…” and I don’t see anything about transcripts. I’m guessing this is a bad sign?
Wait update again. (Sorry for being such a noob) When I open the unofficial transcript page there is a little table with my name, student number, birthdate, and “junior”, “humanities” and then it has a little note about my Spanish level. But there are no actual transcripts. It says zero classes basically. What does this mean?
@FeministFatal your transcript loaded so it means you’re in! Congrats :)>-
@wintransfer2016 OMG!! Thank you so much!!! Good luck everyone!
