Prospective University of Washington, Winter 2016 transfers?

@dawgcho93 lol well I got a reply ticket and it says it’ll responded within two business days. So if it works I’ll msg you.

It felt so good to get the mail today! https://twitter.com/christweetings/status/677575585825099777

Congrats to nicoli!

is there anyone who is waiting for the email of orientation too?
My UW already shows that I’m in … but I haven’t received anything yet.

@jadey138 Yeah I’m waiting. I really wanted to get into orientation on the 22nd if that information up there was accurate. But since it’s the 21st, I doubt they’ll notify me today but we’ll see.

Congrats everyone accepted and hoping if not, try again. You never know. What an experience of waiting 3-4 months for any word on the application, and then receiving notification 19 days before the quarter starts. Glad I didn’t have to do this alone. This forum has helped so much! Thanks everyone.

@ddhwang89 Oh are you not thinking of going to UW this quarter?
@jadey138 @dubsup For me, I called them and looked like I had to register for A&O session through phone call. I received their email confirmation for my orientation date and was invited to do U101 Canvas. If you haven’t called them yet, you should do it asap.

@dawgcho93 Damn just now seeing this. Guess ill call tomorrow anyway

I just got my mail but I wonder whether I register the orientation on call will be faster.
It may take longer for them to get my check

oh I just put my name on the last session on 12/29 on call, but I will send the fees of the orientation later.

@dawgcho93 I’ll be going this quarter part time. I really don’t think I have any classes I can really take. So I don want to waste my time on classes I don’t need to take but if your at the orientation at the 29th I’ll be there

@dubsup yeah, it’s way faster if you just call. Try finishing measles immunization form as well. They want you to do it or they won’t let you register for classes. I never received any emails that I needed it until my adviser told me yesterday so I quickly finished it today… hopefully I’ll be able to register for at least Gen ed classes.

@ddhwang89 you should talk to your adviser to see what’s available for you like gen ed or something. In the orientation, I heard that a lot of people get into classes that they want right before the day when classes start or during the 10 day period before you can withdraw without any fees.

Is anyone thinking of dorming? I need some information regarding it…
Like I don’t know if there are any forms that I can fill out for preferred rooms or roommates when applying for dorming…

Hi folks,

well, I noticed I was confirmed enrolled by checking MyfrontPage>>Class Schedule and finding all the steps. I’m all set to go and I made the Dec. 29th A&O! See you there.

@dawgcho93 yeah I’m actually ready to apply to my major though. So I might just take some classes for my minor though. I’ll wait until the orientation I hear that’s when we get to talk to our advisor.

Has anyone received any information about financial aid?

@liment I emailed osfa@uw.edu the day before yesterday with my student number and a clear short explanation. Late admittance to university, please open my fafsa - and they emailed back with the offers fixed and ready to accept. I had all my paperwork done though way ahead of time.

Hey guys! Does anyone have any advice or stats for a community college transfer from California? I’m in my schools honors program with a GPA of about 3.5 upwards trend. I’ve been hoping to transfer to UW for quite some time but I’m just unsure of how competitive I’ll be considering I’m an out of state transfer. According to California’s general education breadth, I should have it my major’s requirements completed in California but I know its different at UW. I’ve taken all economics classes that my school has to offer though (econ major). I’ll have about 103 quarter units done by the time I’m done with my second year here.

Also any tips on the personal statement would be greatly appreciated!

I know today is the deadline of autumn 2016 transfer application
but I have so many questions.

I am an international transfer student from University of Maryland with 3.3 GPA. I want to transfer to Foster but some of the prerequisite courses are not provided in my current school. Do I have a chance? or should I just apply for economics or statistics, that are less competitive?

(I finished most of the prerequisite for ECON and STAT major, anyone knows the chance to get into either major?)

I heard there is little chance (99% impossible) to be accepted if you don’t finish the prerequisite. I just wanna to make sure this is not a myth, so i don have to waste a chance.

Thanks in advance

@joe831017
you may get into UW first as pre business major and complete the prerequisites.
After completing them, you may apply for Foster
