Prospective University of Washington, Winter 2016 transfers?

@will96 Haha, posting that you just got accepted to UW in a thread full of people who applied 2+ months ago is a lot like poking a hornet’s nest. I hope you get back to us with the details before we all worry ourselves to death.

And congrats! Nice to hear some real news!!!

@snailshellz It appears he was already accepted in the general application for fall 2015. If so, he gets earlier notification as a current UW student. I’m just assuming.

Yes, yes, yes, i got an email, but my transcript hasn’t load yet. I was a transfer, but now i’m a native UW. Sorry for the confusion, and my cc transfer friend’s transcript who applied for biochem has loaded.

Here’s the detail stat:
Admissions Factor//Weight//Applicants//Admitted//your factors:
Combined GPA//40%//3.44//3.62//3.77
Pre-application GPA//25%//3.53//3.73//3.98
WSA Score//35%//3.94//4.29//3.25

i got denied this fall 2015 because of low WSA, but hardwork paid off

@JP1993 if you read “socalsea”'s posts last year, that’s a promising OOS person. I just read read like 20 pages of last years form haha. She found out very late, but she heard good news.

@snailshellz great info thanks for calling sharing that! Luckily I applied to an open major. I feel as if te end of December comment was more of a disclaimer, her sticking to what the website says. Most kids last year knew by December 7th. And most of them who heard that late heard something earlier on (Mid Novemberish), and were asked to send in their current grades to be evaluated before actually being admitted (early December). Good luck on that midterm

Um, they’re supposed to notify applicants by regular postal mail, not email-- unless you’re some special admissions case. Also, what do the stats in your post mean? Where are they from exactly?

@snailshellz as late as the end of December? I live overseas, that leaves no time for travel arrangements, etc. Let’s hope we hear back this week or the next :frowning:

My class registration for another (WA state regional, and local for me) school starts in about a week with their continuing students. UW has until this weekend to respond for me, after which I will likely register for classes elsewhere.

Purple and Gold will always be the best and coolest of course, but I have a life to live, things to get done, and all that. I wish I was younger with plenty of time to wait but this is getting ridiculous. I applied and got my UW Universal account 9 weeks ago and still have no idea what is happening.

@qwertyytrewq2 I saw a few people in past forums get notified about getting accepted to their major through email!

@qwertyytrewq2

The stats are for Foster admissions.

@nicoli I’m sorry to hear that, but I understand. I just don’t get why UW takes so long to go over the transcripts. you’d think it would be a simple process, but I guess because it’s “holistic” it takes forever? Or UW is trying to root out the impatient ones? ~:>

Like I said earlier in the thread, I would hold out for UW! Western is a good school, but it’s nowhere near the caliber of UW.

Thanks Snailshellz:) - nod, just my wife and I have plans, a four month old son, etc. WWU has me prepped CBE and all set, ready to go. Is waiting another xxx for general admission and another xxxx- however long for a chance admission to UW majors of choice worth it? For some, definitely. For me, maybe not, but who knows. Maybe I’m just a little ticked at not knowing right now this minute, haha. Ahhwell:)

@will96 Huh, still really confused about your situation, why you heard by email, so early when fosters is clearly competitive, just lots of things still unanswered for us lol but hell yeah I’m excited for you, first person to be notified. That’s awesome, make sure and celebrate because your hard work has paid off!

@dubsup So UW native is notified around this time in november! and all applicants including transfers will be notified through email. Thank you!

Has anyone else heard anything?

Haven’t heard a thing:(

I haven’t either :frowning:

Does anyone know if your application info changes before receiving mail as well? That part where it says " Thank you for applying… we’ll inform you by postal mail"

@will96 Frankly, I’m having a hard time following what you’ve been saying. Nobody who submitted a general transfer application was told they’d get notified by email. You say “So UW native is notified around this time in november!” What is this even supposed to mean? It doesn’t make sense.

I don’t think they’ve released any notifications yet

Why must they make us wait so much :((

@qwertyytrewq2 Lol I agree with you completely.

I feel bad for anyone in 2017+ who looks at our thread for guidance because we are of very little help.

Note future aspiring Dawgs: go read 2015’s thread hahaha hopefully we become more insightful in the next few weeks as to what can be expected
