GC got the scores back to everyone today. I’m in in CO with a very mediocre 216. Writing killed me the most - and on the ACT, it’s my highest subscore.

25Squared, those are the cutoff scores for last year, the class of 2011. Anyone know when the scores for class of 2012 (took PSAT this October) will be posted anywhere?

I got a 221 in NJ, and 221 was the cutoff last year so I’m not sure if I’ll make it this year.

Same situation here, and it’s p*ssing me off big-time. She’s got absolutely no reason to do so, apart from putting in some ‘letter’ that should easily be able to be sent via e-mail or separately. Plus, she’s mailing them back at the start of next week, so it won’t come till winter break starts.

That is amazing to me that you scored 233 on your psat & excellent on SAT. Have you really studied hard for both of them? What books do you use for preparing it?

My school released a list of 10 students they said qualified as National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalists from the October 2010 test. I live in Florida and they said the cutoff was 214. Is this just a prediction or is 214 the official qualifying score for Florida this year.

@midnight studier: They can’t possibly know that. Schools aren’t made aware of the cut-off until April I believe, plus Fl has been experiencing a drop in cut-off scores (sad, but good for me) so a 4 point jump in one year is extremely unlikely especially with the MASSIVE budget cuts we suffered from this year.

Is there any way to handscore my test cause

Math-71 (1 I managed to get wrong cause a scanning error)
CR-71 (1 I managed to get wrong cause a scanning error)
Writing-67-(I got 4 wrong due to scanning errors)

FMLLL!!! I got 216, and the cutoff for New York was 217 last year and 218 the year before :(; I’m praying that most people this year were idiots! lol

CR: 80
M: 73 (epic fail)
W: 80
Total: 233
Oh and for those of you who think that a bad or average PSAT scores means the equivalent on the SAT, don’t despair. I actually did better on my SAT.

I’m kind of confused. I got 99th percentile in the nation, but I’m right off the cutoff mark for my state [TX], which usually has 215+. I got a 214:
CR: 69
M: 70
W: 75
On Collegeboard, it says the state percentiles were:
CR: 98th percentile
M: 97th percentile
W: 99th percentile

How does this translate, National-Merit chances wise? ><
