PSAT scores for 2010 graduating class

What are my chances for NMSF with a 212

NJ, 224, so probably I'll make the cut for finalist. It's pretty depressing, though, considering that I got a 233 sophomore year. I even did significantly better on my SATs!

Hey guys two questions. First, if you say that the cutoff score for NMSF is a 208 then do the kids who scored a 208 become finialists. Also, do you expect there to be a national increase in the cutoff scores because this PSAT did seem easier than previous tests.

yes. the mean score nationally went up .9 of a point. now, i would expect to see something like we have seen in past years, which is that well established and high scoring states like CA, NY, MA, and NJ will have fairly constant scores. The rest of the West will prolly stay constant to. Im thinking the northeast could potentially go down a point or two. The increase will prolly be reflected in some of the midwest states and the deep south.

Well, I live in the midwest (Nebraska). How high do you think the cutoff will rise in these states?

What score is needed in New York to get commended? (not like semifinalist/finalist status)

I got a 202 if that means anything....

80 Math
61 CR
61 W

commended is nationwide, not statewide.

and in the past the cutoff for commended has been

198<x< 204

Do the cutoff scores only normally flucuate by 3 points or so?

210....in NJ.

FAIL.

Ugg 219 in CA, hopefully the cutoff will stay around 217 :D

omg alluric, im in the same place as you are. so if it jumps to 220 ill know that someone shares my pain D:. but it wont =D. i know it wont =D

how rare is it for the cutoff to jump 2 pts?

I got a 228.
But since I am not a citizen or a permanent resident (or in the process of becoming one), I wasn't eligible for National Merit... :(

Wow, I feel so stupid compared to all of you! "222, hopefully that gets me in"

Haha, braggart much? ;) Yes, I got a lowly 207. Screw you 98th percentile!

And this is why I should've studied. I wasn't even close...I feel stupid compared to you people...181 ;-;

201, fail for FL but hopefully I get commended

does anyone know the cutoff for texas? i'm a junior and i got a 204; my counselor says anything over 200 is usually considered for national merit commended, but does anyone have concrete numbers?

Last year commended was like 200. It has been 202 a lot. 204 should make it.

Texas cutoff for SF this year was 215. It was the same in 2007. The cut off for commended was 200 nationwide. I believe it was the same last year.

211 in PA
i should have prepped
