Hey I had a question about applyin to the program. I alredy applied, n i alredy sent my teacher recommendation and my counselor sent her stuff. my app is in, n my ACT score is in. but on the application, it asked u if u wanted to do an optional activities page. do i hafta do a resume in addition to that for the program, or does that activities page on the application count for the resume that they ask for for the program?

Im a prog now!
Penn State rox d00d !!! =)

The majority of kids in the program are out of state big guy

Hey guys,

So I sent in my application for Penn State and hope I really get in !

I don't know what my chances are. I"m really good in some places and sorta iffy in others.

I was just wondering if somebody already in the program could answer a couple of questions.

Do you get summers off?
Do you get winter break?
What's the workload actually like?

Thanks

idk about winter break but if you opt for the 6 year program you'll enroll at psu for the summer session starting eary to mid june of next year

when do we find out about interviews?

it said january in the letter I got on saturday

this program owns!

if you do the 6 year option you must come to the first summer but 2nd summer is optional if you have enough credits

and yes there are winter breaks

workload is how you make it, you decide your classes

okay so im a junior and I really want to get into this program..like really really
but just got back my psat scores of 182
now i really didnt study for this AT ALL
and I kinda was half asleep when I took it
so do you think it's even moderatly reasonable for me to get a 2100 on the SAT
and be accepted to this program
4.0 gpa
prob 2nd or 3rd in my class
involved in everything you can imagine
tons of volunteer hours
about to get a reasearch internship
stait A student
so i'm only really worried about SAT's
Also what do you think about the ACT's when compared to SAT
i think i'll do better on them for some reason... I guess I'll try both...
thanx guys

About how many students get accepted into the program? According to this website, Penn State Eberly College of Science | Premedical-Medical Program, around 25 students get accepted each year. Does this sound about right? 25 spots sounds low to me.

it says 25 enter the program, not 25 accepted

anyone hear back about interviews or know when we will?

very very soon. got mine last year around this time. you should get a phone call and then theyll email you or something.

expect tip: the sandwiches at the interview day suck. eat beforehand.

Do we get a email if we are rejected?

how many people get interviews?
i heard that if you do get an interview you have the option/it's recommended that you stay overnight with a student, or something like that?

I heard some of the faculty interviewers are lame. You're wasting their time, so they ask you a couple of dumb questions and then send you away. It can be a crap shoot who you get as your faculty interviewer. On the other hand, the med students put a lot of effort into Interview Day.

i dont know how many people get interviews. i would say like 100+? i think acceptance is like 33% of that or something. totally forgot.

i dont know if you get an email if you get rejected. youll probably get a rejection letter by mail. no one really rejects by email lol...that so mean. only stanford does that lol.

Any date on when we find out for interviews?

I called admissions last week, and they said letters would be mailed this week...I actually got an email today, though, telling me that I got the interview, so I'm assuming that applicants are already getting word of it...

Does anybody know when those who are rejected are notified?
