Thank you.
Be sure you’re looking at the BS in AI in the CS Department, not the BA in AI in the Philosophy department.
The BS in AI has 11 required CS courses and 3 required Philosophy courses. Program: Artificial Intelligence, BS - Purdue University - Acalog ACMS™
The BA has 5 CS courses and 11 Philosophy courses. Program: Artificial Intelligence, BA - Purdue University - Acalog ACMS™
The 11 CS courses is the same count as the existing CS Major with the Machine Intelligence track Program: Computer Science: Machine Intelligence, BS - Purdue University - Acalog ACMS™ I think they’re mostly just relabeling this as a major.
My CS/System Engineering daughter could double major in AI with 4 courses.
Good catch, I don’t know if the BS was out there when my son was looking this summer. That’s a little odd just how different the BA and BS requirements are for the same major.
Hi, I’m curious if anyone on here knows what stats are typically needed for an EA acceptance at Purdue? And how many students are accepted in the EA round?
We are OOS (southeast) and don’t know too much about the school. But my son did some research over the summer and applied EA. As we have read more about Purdue, I think it could be a great fit. He applied Business.
My son already has a few acceptances into business programs at large public universities in the southeast, and I wonder what to expect from Purdue. Please share any information you have from previous rounds or just general knowledge if you live in the area.
Thanks!
Check out the data digest. You can sort by college of management and get all kinds of information: https://www.purdue.edu/datadigest/
In general, Krannert is less competitive than for CS, Engineering, and Nursing.
Thank you! This was really interesting to look through. My son’s stats are well within the range of students accepted into Krannert.
I’m curious what % are accepted EA? And if it is MUCH harder to get in EA? (But I realize that this info may be really hard to come by.) Excited for January 15th!
Thank you again.
Purdue admits almost all of its class in EA. It’s RD that is much harder for admission.
Ah, good to know. Thank you so much for this insight.
Any idea when Purdue will release it’s EA decision?
I believe it’s January 15th before 5 pm Eastern.
January 15th is a Sunday. Does Purdue usually release over the weekend? Or should we assume the 13th or 16th?
last year my brother got his decision on Jan. 15th which was a Sat.
So, it sounds like notifications will likely come out on Sunday, January 15th.
Thanks
Most people got decisions on Jan 14th last year (from the reddit thread), which would be a Friday. So maybe Jan 13th this year. Let’s hope!
Do honors college acceptances come out the same day as early action decisions?
According to their website, “Honors College decisions will be released by the end of February each year”
No. They come a few weeks later.
That’s what I am hoping , Friday the 13th before a holiday weekend. Can’t imagine releasing on a Sunday . 2 years ago it was Friday afternoon about 4 pm the emails started rolling out
If I recall correctly, Purdue Admissions will tweet/instagram when they will release at some point during that week.
Last year EA results started being posted on Jan 14th, Friday after 4pm. 2 years ago, it was again Friday, Jan 15th after 4pm. By the same logic, this year should be Friday, Jan 13th. Let’s see
