Put on the Wait List

Just checked my status and I'm on the wait list.

Anyone else?
What are you thinking for your options?

waitlist eh? well thats better then getting declined. 250 students, and im pretty sure all students that applied to UT are NOT going to UT, so keep your chin up, i haven’t gotten anynews.

STILL nothing. ■■■!!

educate, what were your stats?

So are you going to give up your spot at A&M for the wait list?

Better than getting rejected.
I hope I get waitlisted too…

My stats:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-texas-austin/657142-will-ut-austin-accept-me.html

EducateMe, If there are only 250 on the waitlist I cannot imagine that you would not get in! Everyone needs to keep in mind that a lot of schools still have not notified people about acceptance. My D is in U.T., but is waiting on responses from four schools up north! There are many more just like her.

I think being waitlisted is a good thing if U.T. is what you want.

I was wait-listed as well so I suppose I’m just going to hold off on accepting admission to A&M until I get a definite answer from UT; the CAP Program doesn’t really appeal to me but we’ll see.
I’m still in disbelief that I wasn’t rejected after all the chaos this past week ha

So is this whole CAP thing like a waitlist? Or is something completely different

^ CAP is a rejection. :frowning: But you got into UNC with a 1750??? ***?!

I got wait listed. I am so anxious now. Too much stress!

Veebs - What were your stats?

Top 12%
1310/1960 (680 Math, 650 Writing, 630 CR)
29 ACT

Aw man. I regret taking 7 APs now. Almost the same stats but your class rank is much better than mine.
Top 25%
1300/1970
28 ACT
3.8 Unweighted GPA

Damn CAP~~~ I’m so sad.

Yeahh, and it sucks because my class only has 150 kids. sjdfhdsf i hate top ten percent rule.

You only got CAP? I’m sorry :frowning: Lol, I’m not sure if I’ll still even be accepted, but I can only hope.

CAPed. I guess it’s better than being rejected. Now that all of this is over I guess i’m going to A&M

i may apply here next year or for graduate school…not sure.

Same here diddley, CAPed :/

Gig’em, with a thumbs down :[

educateme you have great stats for UT, I am surprised you got waitlisted and not accepted. I still think you will get in though, it just shows how tough getting into UT is becoming.

A mere 4 years ago and pretty much everyone on here would have gotten accepted. I hear it was almost a joke to get into in the 90s.

UT already did calculations to see how many people they should accept… and how many would actually go to UT and fill their 7200 spots available.

The only way people on the waitlist will get into UT is if less people go to UT than they expect. Though economic issues may cause people to go to instate public schools, maybe they wont go to UT, theyll want to go to schools that they can stay at home and go to… I guess if that’s a trend… waitlisted people have a chance.

MagicMan522 - It’s because so many people got in because of the top 10% law, and they don’t have as many spots available this year since they overaccepted in the past years. People that would have gotten in last year were less likely to get in this year.

I’m still debating between A&M and UT and $100,000 in debt at my first choice school in Colorado.
