Question about GED and transferring to California state school.

Hello all, I recently applied to 3 California schools (I am a California resident). CSU Long Beach, San Jose/San Francisco state university.
I’m 27 years old, and didn’t graduate HS, nor did I obtain a GED.
Back in 2011 I took the required 6 units, so I’m clear for obtaining FAFSA grant if needed (unlikely because I’ve been working and saving up my money this whole time).
But what I can’t find is whether or not I need to take my GED test to actually attend the schools. Some places I’ve searched online state (or “hint” rather) that I can simply do my 2 years at a CC and move onto university; my sister did the same and graduated with her masters 3 years ago (She also dropped out of HS way back when).

My cumulative GPA from 2 schools I attended previously is a 3.0. I don’t see how a GED will be a “requirement” at this point, considering I’m on par with other college students, and obviously, above a graduating high school student in terms of material understanding.

Do I really need to take my GED test at this point? Or should I not worry about it and just finish my last (current) semester and move on.
I do recall the CSU apply webpage asking if I graduated HS, and when I clicked no, it didn’t explicitly state whether or not I’m not permitted to apply due to it.

Any help would be awesome

I took some GED pre tests with out studying and passed all except math with flying colors…I’m an Arts student (I.D) so IF I HAVE TO, I’ll just take the test and get it over with, but would rather save my 6-700$

Nothing on CSU web sites (such as https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/transfer/Pages/upper-division-transfer.aspx ) suggests that a HS diploma or GED is required for junior transfer admission. You may want to contact CSU or the campuses directly to verify.

Hmm, okay. I’ll do just that on Monday. Thanks!
