I applied to UCSB, UCI, UCB, and UCLA. I have enough units to transfer, but am taking Geography 1 this semseter to complete my IGETC. I've already had Bio 3 and Statistics. I'm an English major with a 3.5 GPA and lots of EC's. I have taken English 1,2,3, and 6 and am taking English 4,5, and 31 A this semester. Is that one Science class going to hurt me?

I’m confused, why would a science class hurt you?

Because don’t I need 2 science classes completed to transfer, 1 earth science and 1 life science. I only have one of them completed and am completing the other one this semster. I didn’t know if not having both finished prior to applying was a bad thing.

I also thought I needed 4 semesters of foriegn language for both UCB and UCLA, which I have.

no unless it’s math or english it won’t hurt you. as long as you complete your geo class this semester you’re absolutely fine.

It’s not going to hurt you. I finished my IGETC the summer before I came to UC Davis (I was admitted in Fall 2011. I finished IGETC summer 2011).

Fifth column over on the first couple pages, looks like you’ll be fine. The basic English and math classes are the ones you really want to worry about getting done before your last semester. I’m taking my foreign language class this semester and was accepted to UCSB and UCSD so far.

Geography might count as a physical science.
All you need to do is have them all finished before SET FOOT on the UC campus. It can still be in progress right now.

Yes, Geography does count.

I think As as long as we finish Igetc class by spring it will be fine. But if i have finished the math and eng class by fall, but having one major prep class Ip this semester, will it hurt me?
