Question about joining Phi Theta Kappa at Austin Community College

Im currently attending Austin Community College and my current GPA is 3.8, I got asked to joing the Phi Theta Kappa and its $86 to join ....Im in the process of applying at the University of Texas at Austin and on my application it asked me if Im a member of Phi Theta Kappa ...should I join ? Will it affect my application? is it worth it? And does anyone know if Phi Theta Kappa has scholarships for UT? This would really help ...THANK YOU!!!

Phi Theta Kappa is great man. You should join.

I definitely recommend joining Phi Theta Kappa. I am heavily involved in regional and chapter activities, but even without participating, a lot of doors open up. It’s a nice little do-dad to put on a resume, if nothing else.

Edited after I re-read: I don’t see any scholarships for UT Austin, but you could always ask.

Go to the PTK website and use the Search function for TX:

http://www.ptk.org/benefits/scholarships

If UT-A comes up, go to their website and see the specifics of the PTK scholarship they offer.
