Okay i signed up to have scores sent to 3 schools before my act (this sat) because it said they were free. however i found out that if i eff up big time the schools will still get the scores (im a senior and dec is the deadline for a couple schools). So I ask...is there a way I can take the ACT first and then decide if I did good enough to send scores? how much will this cost? How long will it take for it to reach schools after I sign up?

Well, with the SATs you have a week to contact the collegeboard and cancel the scores. I'm sure the ACT has an option like that... Don't panic...yet. Joking, I think it will all work out.

I am in a similar situation. I took the October ACT and feel that I did very well. Since my scores aren't out yet (DAMN YOU ACT!!!), I signed up for the December ACT. I did a whole bunch of prep work (practice tests, review books, etc...) for October, and none at all for December. I am kinda scared that I won't do very well. I think if they release my score for December next Wednesday (and I did well), I will cancel my December scores. You have until the Thursday after test day to cancel btw.
