Hi, I'm Kate and I was wondering if sending my SAT to the National Merit Foundation yesterday was a good idea. It says in my information packet that taking the SAT in December is acceptable, so I wouldn't be the absolute latest person to send my score in, but I took the SAT in June and just didn't have them send my scores at the time because I'm paranoid. Did I send my SAT too late?

Hi Kate - I’m assuming you’re referring to sending your SAT score for the National Merit Scholarship competion (for which you initially qualified by having a PSAT score above your state’s cutoff score). If so, there’s no need to worry - you only need to send NMSC “a timely report”. They do not specify what that is, but since you sent it prior to the availability of the December test results, you’re definitely fine. Feel better?

Yes, thank you very much!
