Question about TAP

Do you know if there's a difference between TAP and TAG? Do all community colleges have TAP? I'm so confused! How do you get TAP with UCLA?

TAP Home Page:
UCLA - Transfer Alliance Program

Complete list of CCC's that offer TAP:
UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Transfer Alliance Program

TAP = Transfer Alliance Program

TAG = Transfer Admission Guarantee

The difference is that TAP gets you priority consideration at UCLA, whereas TAG is a guaranteed admissions program for certain schools (not available for UCLA and UCB (unless your EOP, I believe).

Wait, TAP only applies to those for letters and science and not engineering right?

oh and...how hard is it to transfer from CC to LA engineering? I know getting into engineering as an undergrad is crazy hard. My friend wants to major in mechanical engineering. He messed around real bad in high school, and I'm truly worried for him. He wants to go to LA, but his high school gpa was like a 2.3 cumulative. he now wants to transfer. I know he has a shot if he went letters and science (he's smart..he learns really fast. 2010 on SAT without any prep at all. and 750 on math2c having only taken algebra 2 as a freshman. didnt get to precalculus until senior year) but engineering? What do you need to get into HSSEAS? GPA? How difficult is it?
