if one is applying as an engineering major, does being ucla tap certified count heavily in admission decisions???

so far by what what i've read/heard is that if one is tap certified and applying as an engineering major to ucla, ucla will consider your alternate major (and people have told me accept you as your alternate major if you meet all prereqs) if they don't accept you straight into engineering

also, is it true that after getting in as your alternate major (in the college of letters and sciences) that you can't petition to get into engineering after you have transferred into ucla???

all suggestions/coments/links/whatevers will be appreciated!

tap will not help you one bit for getting into engineering, however it will help you with alternate.. you can try to switch major into engineering once you get there, but if you applied as engineering and didnt get in as it then you cant transfer into it once u get there either.

can someone show me a link where it says this...because what if u love engineering, didn't get in as engineering, got in as alternate in college of letter's and science, and want to switch.

i need an answer quick
give me links/references/whatever you've heard/seen

well on ucla's hsseas website it says that if you transfered into ucla as a different major and now decide you want to do engineering they will look at your application as if you were applying with the same courses and grades from the community college. therefore if you didnt get accepted the first time, you wont get it once youre there either. if u want to see for yourself type ucla engineering into google

true that...i agree with what u say. i 've seen what ucla says about someone wanting to do engineering after they get in

my dilemma is that i'm actually taking my physics series at a cal state; i am not sure how uc's will look upon this

anyone know how uc's judge you when you've taken a couple course from a cal state school???

also, do u think it's my best bet to finish all classes for engineering, but apply as a non-engineering major in the college of letter's and sciences in ucla, and when i get there apply to change major (because i have everything needed)
