i just hv a general question...i know that NYU has a whole bunch of schools, tisch, CAS, Stern... these R separate schools right? like if a kid from my school applies to Stern and I apply for CAS, we won't be judged against each other right? (like we would not be competition for each other) is that right? thanks

I don't know the exact nature of the admissions process at NYU, but if it's possible to apply to more than one school within NYU (meaning your friend applies to both Stern AND CAS, in which case he would attend CAS if he doesn't get into Stern and is accepted by CAS) or if NYU places rejected Stern applicants into their CAS pool, then you would be in competition. If the schools are completely separated and it's not possible to apply for both at the same time whether by the student's will or the school's then you shouldn't be worrying.

you might as well be applying to different schools. you can only apply to one school - if you get rejected, you don't get put into another school's admission.

so to the OP, yes you will not be in "competition" with your friend

Each of the schools has its own admissions panel, so no, you will not be compared with students applying to other schools.

because of the gender imbalance, are boys compared with girls?

Wait, do they only allow like 1 kid from each school?

Because me and some other girl from my school are applying to the same school, CAS. but i'm a male and she's a female. We are both part of a minority, how would this be handled?

Why would NYU allow only 1 kid from each school? I'm at NYU Stern and I hear people here say that some schools nearby send like 70 people to NYU each year.
