questions about move-in day

Would anyone happen to know whether we should be going to registration first or driving to the dorms first to place our stuff in there. Bartels seems quite a long way from North Campus, so i'd rather not shuttle back and forth

Only if you have a 2PM move-in time, otherwise go after you get settled in your dorm.

It's a 12 minute walk. Get used to it.

Really? Are those of us with 2pm move-in times not allowed to move in before registering?

Well, you can move in only between 2PM and 5PM. And you can register anytime between 8AM and 5PM. So you do the math.

I trust you have read the orientation book, right?

<a href="http://newstudentprograms.cornell.edu/orientation/PDFs/orientation_guide_08_lowres.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://newstudentprograms.cornell.edu/orientation/PDFs/orientation_guide_08_lowres.pdf</a></p>

Right, that makes sense. We just plan on getting there at 2pm, and I figured I'd go to registration after my stuff is moved in. But, considering I have no idea how long I'll be waiting in line, etc, I guess registering first might be a good idea.

And yes, of course I've read the orientation materials. :)

Thanks!

(Parents don't come to registration, right? Will they park, wait for me to register, wait for me to come back, wait in line to move in, and then go park again?)

indeed parents do not come to registration. or so says the packet thing, which I am trusting because of its friendly artistic design.

So since I have an earlier move in time, I can move in first and then go to registration right? And the key is provided by whom again?

Off topic, but I will get to campus tomorrow around 8-9 PM (past the official registration window). Where should I register then? Should I go directly to my residential hall and ask for further instructions?

read the orientation packet. i believe it says something about arriving late in the first couple pages
