Do they typically hold some rooms for those that have a later selection day? Or are ALL the rooms on a first come, first serve basis?

My room selection is on April 27… But I checked today around 6 PM, and I was able to see all the available rooms and even pick a suite in Burke. (Glitch maybe?)
But I got a double room and I desperately want a single room. What are the chances of me getting it? ALL the single rooms were taken, along with super suites… So I was thinking that maybe they held some rooms, because there’s no way they would have already run out of that much space…

Are you saying that you were able to get a regular double suite in Burke tonight?

If so, I think you should be able to continue looking for another room. However, I don’t know if you can immediately do so.

If there was a glitch, it’s in your favor. Did you get a confirmation? I don’t know how long it takes to get confirmations. If you get an email confirming your room, I don’t think they would take it away.

As for holding rooms…

Burke is also the athletic dorm, so I don’t know if some rooms are held for athletes. You could call tomorrow and ask.

In the meantime keep checking. And, keep looking at their super suites…those are more likely to have openings.

However, I really doubt there are many singles available. The few singles are usually reserved for RAs and special medical conditions. The few that would be available would likely have been scooped up by upper classmen. But, call and ask.

I know that I looked for a single in Honors for my son in Feb and couldn’t get one. So, he’s going to go to The Bluff.

Hmmm…I thought some athletes were in Burke, too. I don’t mean the football team. I thought my friend’s son (swimmer’s scholarship) was in Burke, but maybe the mom misspoke.
