I'm thinking that others here might have questions about the city that could be collected under a specific thread - so if you have suggestions or questions about the area, post them here.

I'm unfamiliar with the area myself, so I was wondering: does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Newark to land near the Wilmington Country Club/Winterthur Museum? Would it be faster to drive there from Wilmington or Newark? On the map it looks like the distance is equal between Winterthur and Newark or Wilmington (about 20 miles) but depending on traffic/speed limits/etc. it might be much different in terms of driving time. Someone told me that it's a good 40 minutes from the museum to Newark.

I live just outside of Wilmington... on most days, it takes about 20 minutes to get from UD to Wilmington, the absolute longest it's ever taken me is about 35 minutes, which still isn't that bad. To get to either the country club or Winterthur would probably add on about another 10 minutes to your drive.

to get to the wilmington country club or winterthur.

I would take 95 out of newark to the exit for route 52. Then ride that all the way down through greenville till you see either on the right.

If 95 is backed up you could take 2 to 141 and make a left (ramp) onto 141. then ride that till you get to rt 52. make a left (ramp) onto it and go through greenville till you get there.

how do you know about winterthur and wcc without knowing about delaware?

it would definately be faster from wilmington

Thanks for all the help. I was accepted into a grad program that holds classes at both Winterthur and the university, but I'm from the Midwest and have not spent time in the area. I guess I'm looking at a lot of driving time each day.
