Quick question about transfer credit...

When they mean 30 credit hours, does that not include credit from APs?

Thanks

It does not include credit from APs

So they basically only give me a decision after I send in my final transcript?

Damn. Looks like I will have to wait until late May/early June.

If the school you are attending gives you credit for a class and designates that on your transcript, it does count toward your 30 needed hours.
It’s not that I won’t have 30 by the end of semester (I’ll have exactly 30 not including APs), I was just wondering if they would give me a decision before I send in my final transcript for this semester.

They could give you a decision if your transcript has 30 hours before the end of the semester including AP credit listed on the transcript.

What do you think my chances are of getting into Cockrell?

I got CAP’ed last year but I decided to go to UW-Madison.
I’m in the Engineering School at UW.
GPA: 3.821

Currently taking:
Honors Analytical Chem.
Third Semester Calc.
Sociology 134
and Chinese

I don’t know the engineering transfer state, sorry. I am curious though why you want to transfer? Wisconsin is a wonderful university.

Mainly so I can be closer to home (I’m from Austin) and so my parents don’t have to pay out of state tuition.

Here’s an idea! Transfer to Ole Miss and join the committee to make Admiral Ackbar the new mascot there. I read about this in US News.

The OOS tuition at Ole Miss is lower than UTs, and - my 16 year old son said - who wouldn’t want to go to a college with Admiral Ackbar as its mascot? :D

(okay, just kidding that you should transfer to Ole Miss instead of UT)

thats a nice gpa @Admiral, i think you will get in
i got CAPd this year, so i might be transferring to UT next year if my grades are good enough

BUMP

Does credit I earned at ACC (while I was in high school) count?

like they said above, i think if its own your transcript it does

Yes, credit from ACC does count if it is from a transferable course.
