Can any current students please comment on the racial diversity on campus?

There are quite a few international students. Lots of white kids. Not many Black students(the ones you see will usually be African or from the Caribbean.) I’m African-American and this hasn’t put a damper on my time here, since it is racially diverse in the aspect that you will see people of all different colors and ethnicities on campus, mainly due to the international population. There are many Caucasian students, however.

I’m white, my friend group is made up of most races (black, Latin, Asian). It’s a big school, you’ll find what you’re looking for, especially if you look at all the different cultural clubs and whatnot. And my friends are mostly engineers so they’re in the Black Engineering Student Society, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, etc. My freshman roommate did a summer diversity program for engineers during orientation, so I met her friends (now my friends!) from that.

Another pertinent anecdote: my freshman roommate is from the Bay Area and complained that she’d never been around this many white people before. I’m from a suburb outside of Boston that was literally 95% white and was thrilled to be in a much more diverse environment.
