I've never seen "The One". :(

Paula Garces from Harold and Kumar = HAWWWT

supposedly, jet li was allergic to her lipstick. yea, whatever. lol.

BET = horrible stereotyping of African-Americans.

My Stereotypes are the following
And i am white....
- Blacks speak in ebonics, are great athletes, stupid, they smell, they are strong, some are nice, some arent, big *****es.
- Jews are cheap tyrants
- Mexians are greasy illegal immigrants.
- Puerto ricans are cool( i am part pr)

oh yea my stereotype about PRs are....
PR are wealth sucking taking up space little ooh-im-american-and-hispanic-so-i-am-a-URM-so f**-ya-other-minorites

oh yea my steretype about PRs are....

what's the deal with purto ricans being so proud of their heritage and theres that purto rico day everyone has their flags out and a parade.

Whay would you be proud to be from puerto rico? puerto rico is a ****hole. Nothing worthwhile has every been accomplished there, it's a dump. It's borderline 3rd world the only reason it's borderline is because it's owned by America.

What the hell is there to be proud of?

Being alive?

puerto rico should pay taxes, but that doesn't mean you are allowed to trash the people

I'm not trashing the people, just the place. That's why I'm surprised somone could be proud of the place. The people are fine.

"puerto rico should pay taxes, "

Why? They don't get to vote in presidential elections or have a rep in congress? Plus they pay there own taxes to fund there own government.

It's called nationalism. Something that seems non-existent in the US.

Your kidding right?
Thats the worst argument I've ever heard.

If you think patriotism is lacking in the US youre either dumb, a conservative, or both. If you think making PR pay federal taxes is somehow going to make them more magically loyal to the US, youre insane.

BTW, there is a difference between a nationalist and a patriot. The nationalist defends with all their fiber institutions and symbols; the patriot fights for ideals and principles. Plastering a huge american flag sticker on the back of your pick-up doesn't make you a patriot.

I'm not saying that Puerto Rico paying taxes will make them be more loyal so stop miscontruing my words there.

"Why? They don't get to vote in presidential elections or have a rep in congress? Plus they pay there own taxes to fund there own government."

The U.S. government takes care of PR's defense and foreign affairs and foots the bill for welfare (for which almost 60 percent of Puerto Ricans qualify) so why shouldn't they be taxed?

"I'm not saying that Puerto Rico paying taxes will make them be more loyal so stop miscontruing my words there."

Tell that to Mr. Pavlov, hes the genius that brought that up.

"The U.S. government takes care of PR's defense and foreign affairs and foots the bill for welfare (for which almost 60 percent of Puerto Ricans qualify) so why shouldn't they be taxed?"

For the same reason GW and Jefferson didn't, taxation without representation is fundamentally wrong. Plus you said it yourself, nearly half the country lives in poverty. Not only would taxing them destroy the fragile economy but would generate very little revenue at first and negative revenue after 5 years.

And when was the last time Puerto Ricans needed to be defended? If PR was a state it would have the highest percentage of people serving in the US armed forces.

Matt30, perhaps I should have quoted what my response was to.

everything said:
What the hell is there to be proud of?

And I said it's called nationalism. Although you are right in that I should have used patriotism as there is a clear distinction between the two. My point is that you don't have to be a developed country to be proud of where you come from. My parents come from a country that's probably considered third world, yet they're pretty proud of where they come from just as we're all proud of our heritage and ethnicity.

By the way I would say patriotism may very well be lacking in the US. Where I'm from people could give two flyin ****s about the flag let alone want to fight for the country. That's how patriotic it is around here. Heck in my school, the pledge of allegiance comes on, and class continues as if nothing were being said. It's an AP class to boot.

My fault sorry to jump on your back like that.

back to the original topic...

When's the last time you've seen an asian guy with a white/black girl?
[/quote]

i'm a white girl with an asian guy. initially people made some pretty annoying comments. (for example: "so what does he like to do in his spare time... math?") they got over it, though, and now the worst we get is weird stares from old people in the mall. my jewish grandparents disapprove, but that's no big surprise.

there was an interesting story on the subject in upenn's daily pennsylvanian: Try naming a famous Asian hunk

Asians dont' really like the fame thing as much as other races. They are pretty focused on academics and getting rich through education rather than talent. It is merely a culture difference.

This is why almost every other race (Latinos, African Americans, Caucasians, etc) are on TV and are singers/actresses/models but the Asians stay pretty low-key.
