Rank (in your opinion) the following 7 colleges from best to worst? (CSU's)

So based on your opinion/insight/experience/etc, what would you say is the BEST CSU?
CSULA
CSUDH
CSULB
San Jose
San Diego
CSUF (Fullerton)
Cal Poly Pomona

(It would be great if you could also rank them according to their business program/school; I applied as a Finance major:)

Thanksx:)

What are your criteria for college desirability?

Will you be living on or near campus, or will you be commuting from where you live now?

SDSU is the most residential of these campuses (71% of frosh live in the dorms). SJSU and CPP are about half resident and half commuter (56% and 48% respectively). The others are predominantly commuter.

I will be living on campus!

You may want to prefer a school where more other students are similar to you in terms of resident versus commuter, since socialization with other students may be more difficult if you are a commuter at a more residential school, or a resident at a more commuter school.

No SLO?

i only listed the schools I could afford to apply to! @my2caligirls

@beloved18 - I can’t rank as I’m not familiar with a few of universities’ business programs, but I can say that SDSU’s undergrad business program is very well-regarded especially in Southern California. I hope you plan on attending Explore SDSU on March 18th. http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/explore/ You’ll be able to meet quite a few current students, graduating seniors, and faculty from the department, as well as representatives from the program’s business fraternity and other departmental clubs.

That said, since networking and connections are so important in the business world, also look at each school’s alumni programs. Are they very active? Do their alumni continue to support their university post graduation? Do the local businesses and corporations hire from the university? What internship opportunities are available for the students? For example, in San Diego County, one in seven college graduates graduated from SDSU. The university has a very strong and devoted alumni, and many alumni are influential business leaders who like to hire fellow grads. The university also has a great mentoring program, which matches current students with alumni. My Aztec kid participated in the Aztec Mentor program, and it was a wonderful experience. https://amp.sdsu.edu/about I’m sure the other universities on your list probably have similar programs, and you might be able to research the strength of their business fraternities and clubs by checking out their social media pages and websites. If you do have any social media account, sign up for the universities’ social media pages. That gave my kids a lot of insight into the current status of programs, activities, etc. on the campuses.

@ucbalumnus - SDSU recently announced that non-local freshmen who enter the school starting in the fall of 2018 will be expected to live on campus for their first two years. That will definitely increase the percentage of sophomores who live in university housing. For the past three or so years, SDSU has been adding new dorms as well as remodeling some of the older ones in order support the demand for on-campus housing. They’re also adding several restaurants and a Trader Joe’s in order to support more students living in the community.
