Congratulations to all of the accepted students! Hope to see some of you next year on campus - that is, if we figure out who’s who. ;P

Congrats to those accepted! I am really happy for you!!! Waitlisted students may still have a chance since Carleton receives no more than 8,000 applicants and I don’t think that they waitlist so much people. (like 3,000 waitlisted students at big universities Northwestern, Chicago etc.)

Do you guys know if mail companies like FedEx make delivery during the weekend, or am I being too optimistic right now:) ?? If not, then I should not expect something to arrive this weekend and should wait for Monday.

Still nothing! If I don’t get anything today it pretty much means rejection :(

@robcol: are you an international student? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do think FedEx makes weekend deliveries. Domestic students have their envelopes sent by USPS. This is just a tentative answer, and I do expect someone with better knowledge than I have to help you.

@justchamp: are you an international student? All domestic applicants receive their decision by postal mail. I think int’l students do, too. Perhaps the post offices are busy with the influx of college mail. ;-)

Weird question, does FedEx come separate to regular post??

I’m an international. All accepted students get theirs by FedEx and I went on the website and check how long it would arrive, which is suppose to be today. If I don’t get it means I will get the rejection letter by postal mail.

I’m not sure you can count on receiving a weekend FedEx delivery, depending on your location and how exactly the package was sent by Carleton. In some locations there is an extra fee for Saturday delivery. Don’t give up hope just because your FedEx driver doesn’t appear today.

It’s snowing in the UK atm so I hope the delay in hearing is due to bad weather and not due to it being a rejection!

Yes I am an international student, and justchamp is quite right…If I don’t get an acceptance letter until Monday, I will assume that I will get the rejection letter by regular mail. We send some application documents to US via TNT and they arrive to US in 4 days. That is why I am pretty hopeful for today. (Letters were send on 19th of March. 19+4=23) And a couple of my friends told me that FedEx makes deliveries on Saturday but not on Sunday. So… there is still a chance that I can hear good news today.

An Update: I wanted to be sure about delivery in weekends, so I called my country’s FedEx customer services. And the lady on the phone said that we don’t make deliveries in the weekend:( So, internationals, just calm down and wait Monday for the good news.

I also though FedEx in my country delivered on weekends, but in fact, they don’t. Monday it is then!

best of luck to those still waiting for the envelope in the mail

I checked with FedEx in my country. They say that they don’t send on Sundays but do on Saturdays before 12:00pm and with extra cost. So if Carleton send them the regular FedEx, Monday would be the last day to expect the letter.

Nothing in the mail today in New Jersey. Guess I’ll have to wait until monday :(

Posting on behalf of a friend - nothing yet in Ohio.

Accepted yesterday in the Chicago Suburbs

So is there a chance I’ll receive it today? Didn’t Congress tell the USPS to continue its 6-day schedule?

Waitlisted in upstate NY. Figures, since I applied late so my application automatically got low priority. Now I can just cross my fingers and wait. Got my financial aid from “other Minnesota LAC,” though, and it’s looking better and better!

awwww question…is there any possibility that besides acceptance, Fedex for international students also carries waitlist?? ><

It doesn’t look like any rejection letters have arrived. Am I wrong?
