Re-taking the SATs

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if I should take the SATs again for a junior transfer into another school. The only reason why I ask is because my SAT scores were significantly affected by my disability. Four months after I got diagnosed and got my health managed, my scores rose over 100 points. Now I'm wondering if I should take them again and see if they can rise even higher with a year's worth of management and sharpened senses.
There is an SAT test date right after winter break ends. Since, from what I've been told, it is better to focus on your GPA than SATs while college is in session, I'd figured I'd use my month off as time to study (on top of applying for scholarships and summer courses). Do you think this is a good and reasonable plan, or should I skip the SATs and focus on the scholarships and summer courses instead?

Thanks!

several schools dont require the SAT for transfer admissions… those that do dont put to much focus on it. That said, if you have the time to study for the SATs, than do so, but I bet your time will be better spent writing and refining your transfer essays.

True, but I was planning on using my summer and/or next year’s winter break for those. I want to wait until I’m closer to the application date to write my essays so they sound like who I am at that moment.

I agree with shoomsm.
Still, I chose to retake the SATs even though all the schools I applied to didn’t require it…
