Keepyourshirton: I applied to UCs, but even then those are hard to get into out of state and extremely expensive. So if I had a choice between my in-state school and something like Berkeley, I’d still take the in-state one because my undergrad would essentially be the same and it’d be much cheaper.

Not applying to all of the Ivies like some of you are, but the rest of my list includes places like Duke which are essentially up there. A few of my schools have surprisingly high acceptance rates for their status though, so my fear is eased a little bit, as long as I’m not misjudging my own application’s strength.

Just checked, and we currently have 9 more pages than the Harvard 2018 SCEA applicant’s thread. Don’t know what that means other than we have more posts.

Oh god I screwed myself by applying for CS (23rd time I’ve mentioned this in this thread).

If I get in though, I’d like to do CS + Linguistics, because Siri and Kinect suck and I am on a mission to pave the way for improved interfaces mediating human-machine natural language understanding. Maybe throw in a Media Studies course or two. And of course I’ll continue my EDM production work (come to my raves, they’re drug free*), and maybe play some random obscure sport.

On the bright side, I’m not limiting my vision to Stanford. Already planning my career at MIT actually…

Anyways, also applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, MIT, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, and Caltech for other tech stuff. Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, and UChicago are my backup schools (srsly). I have about 3 more schools of essays to write/recycle for, so. Predicting rejections at everything except the UCs and CMU.

Up until this summer I considered myself pretty tall (5’ 11" on a good day), especially cuz I’m chinese. Then I went to the yearly doctor checkup and they were like lolno, you’re in the 55th percentile for height. Guess my vision was slanted by the fact that 55% of my school is asian.

*drug free= first hit of drugs for free

EDIT: We may be doing better than Harvard, but last year’s SCEA Stanford thread was 283 pages long.

@matrixsurgeon It does seem to be around the same people who keep posting stuff, so you may have a point there. And I certainly think the rest of you guys are awesome

Stanford’s been my dream school since I was a toddler for a multitude of reasons. So, I decided to apply early since I had everything in place. I wanted to know when the results are out as the Stanford website says “by December 15th” and a lot of other colleges, such as Cornell, which my friends applied to early, have released an exact date for their decisions. I’ve read various dates on this thread, ranging from 13th to 15th. I just want to know when we will find out the exact date.
