** Read Before Starting New Housing Thread**

correct. do not reject or you will be dropped from on campus housing.

accept it and request a change.

I'm in a similar situation as Vendetta133 however it's slightly different.

I received Sunset Village Plaza, Triple Private Bathroom w/ 2 requested roommates. However 1 of my roommates decided to room w/ her cousin and is requesting a change of roommate. My other roommate and I want to change to a double in De Neve. Considering that we're freshman is this impossible? What is the likely outcome? I wouldn't mind a triple de neve w/ a stranger, but of course I wouldn't be able to tell them.

I suggest accepting your offer then submitting a housing request to change rooms. That way you'll still have housing somewhere if they can't fulfill your request.

are you supposed to get some sort of confirmation after submitting a CAR?

I submitted mine like a week ago, it said it was successfully submitted or w/e, but I didn't get any emails or notifications about it.

are there toilet seat covers in plaza restrooms? and are the showers the same kind of showers in the res halls?

no toilet seat covers. what do you need them for, anyway? you're sharing the toilet with either 3 or 5 other people and it gets cleaned once a week.

the showers are nice, they vary by building complex but not significantly, and again everything is cleaned once a week.

Hm, I am being offered Sunset village. I can only hope it's a good place to live in.

it is, as has been said.
quiet, peaceful, and a great location. de neve is similar as far as plazas go, but its location is far less central.

i know that in rieber the showers that have changing rooms are on the south side, but in hedrick hall which side has the changing rooms, north or south? since hedrick is flipped the opposite way of rieber...

north. 10char

Question: how quiet are plazas? Sleep thru the night w/ nyquil quiet or small chit chat quiet?

so much of that depends on your roommates/floormates. seriously, there's no generalizations to be made...

Looks like I'm going to be living in the Saxon Suites, and I have a few questions.

Can you get wireless internet connection there in the rooms? Or do I have to buy a router?

Do they have the equivalent of "floor activities" at Saxon? Or some sort of socializing thing for people living there? Basically, how do I not "commit social suicide" at Saxon?

For those who have lived there: how'd you like it? What was it like?

Thanks, guys!

1) you need a router. if you get one, be careful who you let access your wireless and set ground rules because all internet activity going through that router ends up being your responsibility. that means if your roommates (or anyone) downloads a butt load of movies and music on your wireless, you will get nailed and not them.

2) i have no first hand experience at saxon, but it depends on how involved your RA(s) is(are). some are really active and try to interact with the floor and the residents. some do nothing and you rarely see them.

3) not applicable to me.

I heard you can get routers somewhere on campus, is that right?

if you have a triple room you can check out a router from STC.

they are just wired routers, not wireless.

how often are CARs accepted?

the CAR deadline passed, and they're in the final week trying to get the CARs sorted out. Are more CARs accepted in this week or are most done before the deadline?

I really want to change my dorm (I'm requesting from sunset to any of the 3 halls) and is it likely that it'll be changed in this last week?

does anyone know anything about glenrock apartment?

im not sure if this is entirely related to housing, but i was wondering what kind of printers people typically have in the dorms. If anybody has any recommendations that would be great! thanks

I bought a laser printer off newegg last year for $35. Extremely cheap and reliable. Super speedy too.

Newegg.com - HP LaserJet P1005 CB410A Personal Up to 15 ppm Monochrome Printer - Printer - Laser Printers

Not the same printer but pretty close.
