The best plaza is De Neve plaza from what I hear.

Close to bruinwalk and close to dykstra hall. A friend of mine who lives in De Neve says it is very social. Plus some lectures are actually held in the De Neve buidling so you don’t have to walk much.

I plan to file a CAR to change from De Neve to a residence hall, but if I accept the housing offer right now and pay the intial amount and I do get granted the change, I only have to pay the price of the residence hall minus the intial payment I made right? Probably yes, but just want to make sure that I don’t get chaged extra.

I put down Residence Hall as a first choice but I got a Plaza instead. Is this common? Are they going to force me to pay more for housing I would rather not have or can I appeal this somehow?

I have the same problem too. I was assigned Hitch suites but there’s no way I can pay for that, and in fact I really wanted to live in Hedrick. Is there any way to give me a better chance of being in the hall I want? Or do I just have to go through the process of randomly allotting the rooms again?

i got the regents scholar and they said i’d get guaranteed housing. isnt every transfer guaranteed housing for one year? or does it mean i’ll get watever my top priority is?

i love to make friends and stay active but i also want to have privacy and some place not too loud or chaotic. I’m considering bw plazas and suites. which one do you think is better? what are the pros and cons?
And what plaza or suite would u recommend?

guaranteed housing doesnt mean guaranteed choice of housing.

plaza is a good compromise of both. for plazas, de neve, rieber terrace, and rieber vista are the newer ones.

Does anyone know what will happen when they try to charge my savings account when I have a $100.00 withdrawal limit on any given day? I put my info in and I’m worried about there being problems before the due date.

Would it be possible for them to charge $100.00 and I can pay the last three increments using the Student/Tenant pay option?

Okay so I am about to submit my CAR, but it says

Students whose change request is granted may be required to pay an additional amount or may receive a credit to their account. Roommate assignments will be e-mailed in August.

I only pay extra if I am switching to a more expensive building right? I am switching out from De Neve to residence hall. It would suck if I have to pay extra to do that.

I heard that sports teams usually get rooms next to eachother or in the same building is that true? Like the Basketball guys and the gymnastics girls and other teams all live by eachother and some end up as roommates. Also do you get any say in who you want to live with when you first apply to UCLA housing?

I’d love to hear some insight on the condition of Hitch suites.
Any current students have any… I have a double and am concerned as I hear they are pretty old.
Not sure if I should submit a CAR, I don’t want to end up in a triple.
I would love a single, but heard that is next to impossible for a freshman.
