Once you get assigned, is there anyway to change it without getting another random housing assignment again? I got Saxon Suites. How is it?

yasmine: yeah, that’s true. athletes usually get priority for housing, so they end up with doubles even if they’re freshmen. it makes sense though cause athletes tend to be huge - can you imagine 3 basketball players living in a room together? haha. i had four soccer girls on my floor this year and they roomed with each other. one of them went to chile for the world cup for her age group and was awarded mvp of the tournament and had the most goals for the tournament - look her up - sydney leroux :)

LOL, good luck with that.

Are CARs done through a lottery system or is it in the order of which they are received?

Because I have submitted a CAR about a month ago requesting doubles in all of the halls (yeah, I know it’s quite unlikely). I have not yet received a confirmation.

So now I’m considering revising my CAR to have a triple in Sproul, but I don’t want to submit a revision if the CARs are done on a first-come first-served basis.

Any advice?

What do you have now?

I don’t think it will hurt if that’s what you want. If you have a plaza, i would prob happily trade haha

How does one request a roommate when submitting the CAR? I tried it through the app update and it didn’t work!

there’s a swap day towards the beginning of the year so if any of you guys still want to trade rooms with someone you can always do it then, and you’ll probably have more of a choice then as well cause it won’t be random. you should probably look our for scary roommates though because that could be why someone is moving out hah

There’s an “Open Transfer Night” scheduled for October 5th and 6th. I’ve got a double shared bath @ Sunset Village. I’m looking to get into Rieber Terrace (or Vista). Any takers?

I would’ve put in a CAR (Change of Assignment Request) but they stopped accepting them on 7/16 and I was a lotto applicant and received my initial offer on 8/05. If I didn’t accept it I wouldn’t have gotten anything.

hey, i have a triple at dykstra and i’m looking to trade with someone (girl of course) who has de neve plaza or sproul hall. anyone want to swap the first week of october?

and i wouldn’t mind swapping with someone with shared baths in sunset village either. (the idea of a private bath seems like it could be kind of annoying.)

When do I find out about my roommates?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/759908-so-when-do-you-find-out-who-your-roommates-2.html#23
But it should be soon.

My housing just got changed to hedrick summit, and I have a couple of questions:

It says that I’m in a triple with shared bath. Does that mean there’s just one toilet and shower stall for 6 or so girls to share? That seems rather inconvenient…

I heard that hedrick summit has a lot of 2nd/3rd years, and is there a possibility that I would be put in a room with them?

Yes, two rooms share one bathroom (1 toilet and a shower stall, but you get two sinks).

Yes, there is always the possibility that you might be rooming with 2nd or 3rd years. Although it is usually rare, it still happens.

does hedrick summit have an elevator? Im looking at the floor plan and all I can find are a bunch of stairs -.-

There are two elevators in summit. On the floor plan, look for “elevator lobby” across from rooms *00 and *02 where * is the floor number

where did you guys find the floor plan?
