Do they really expect single students to be that small?

^ I got a single, lol. Im around 6’0". Im looking forward to see what type of movie magic I can perform to make the room seem bigger.

Where can I get 10 sq ft of mirror?!

So I don’t know if this was asked and answered already but afterr reading through five pages I didn’t see it, so here goes. Which bed and desk and closet is the best in the triple? And by best, I mean, most space, most convenient, most light, etc. i’m moving into a triple in Hedrick and am a bit worried about how cramped I’ll be with two other roommates

It says 10 inches by 10.5 inches.

I like the bottom bed with desk at the head (or foot) and closet at the other end in Sproul, not sure how Hedrick is.

i second lisalisa313’s question. my other two roommates have avoided talking about how to divide up the room space (i’m more specifically concerned with closet space and how it’s divided up) and strangely everyone got scheduled to move in at the same time, which is the earliest you can possibly get btw.

i know there have been threads out there about “which one you think is better” but i haven’t been able to find many of them talking about how to divide up the res hall space. the loft closet seems to be the most undesirable because it’s the smallest but i wonder, if i was to get stuck with it, what other closet space can i get? haha i always think that the large closets come in sets. like if you get the hall closet then you get the other closet next to it with the drawers.

and if your roomie ends up on bottom bunk then it should be assumed that they get the drawers underneath. but what happens if they claim both the hall closet + closet w/ drawers?
i’m being paranoid but closet arrangements have been bothering me for a while now =</p>

So which closet space and chest of drawers is the best for residence halls?

Also is there enough room in a triple sproul hall for a 22’’ TV?

yea confidentiality there is, my freshman year one of my roommates brought a 42’’ lcd in for our triple in a hall lol

ok thanks

and do people bring desktops/computers? I just can’t get used to my laptop. x.x

I know a few people with desktops but a laptop’s portability is very handy in some situations.

hi! I’m gonna dorm in a triple in hedrick hall this fall and I was wondering, how hot does it get? is there a difference temperature-wise between top and bottom bunks?

we have the bottom bunk battle going on and I was also wondering if its worth it to do bed rotations every quarter…does anyone even do that? I’m scared to even mention it to my roomie lol. I thought it’d be fair but I could see how that might **** people off.

People say they would switch beds, but after 10 weeks of being in a bed you won’t want to move. There is no temp difference between bottom and top bunk…they’re like 3 feet from each other. IMO bottom bunk is the worst, people sit on it all the time if they come in your room and everyone would wake you up if you try to go to sleep first. But, if you’re on the top you can’t see anyone so its easier to sleep etc etc.

Also, if you really want the bottom bed, just switch your move in time to be first and call it and put your stuff on it. What are your roommates going to do, take all your stuff off it and claim it as their own after that?

Bed sleeping rotations? 0.0 I don’t know about other people, but there’s just no way I would ever agree to such a thing. Besides the part of having to change and move the sheets a lot, I’d be mildly concerned about my roomies’ cleanliness. I mean, you never know…

Just do your best to claim which bed you want, cause I doubt they’d agree to do rotations.

Just do a lottery.

Does UCLA have any coed dorms?

UCLA has coed dorms in the sense that girls and guys live next door to each other. They offer family housing as well for those that have kids/require a different living situation. There is no coed in the same room situation though unless you’re in the above category.

This question might have been asked before, but…

For the halls, are they ALL unisex?

Yes, the halls have no sex restrictions. You can’t have a roomate of different sex though.

Does ucla housing fee include food expenses or we have to pay extra for that?
