i’m from cali and i already know i’m gonna go to BU so do you think it’s worth it for me to go to the BU open house? even though i’m going to orientation and the reception for admitted students?

why are you guys going?

just curious. haha so far the only reasons why i REALLY want to go is to get a BU sweater. hahaha

Hey, that's my #1 reason too, lol. I wanna visit/get a feel for the campus one more time... I have been there once before, but it was a long time ago. I also wanna meet some of my future classmates. :)

yeah def....i wanna go...cuz i havent visited yet...but yeah, i wanna get a hat...i have a notre dame hat i wear..but i dont think that'll b good to wear at Bu..lol

I am also from California and flew to Boston to attend open house, but this was before I had "decided" to attend. It was the best experience because I stayed overnight with an upperclassmen "host" (which you should look into if you decide to attend open house) and got a feel for what it was like to actually live in a dorm and "hang out" with students. Honestly though, if you are already sure that you will be attending BU, open house isnt that helpful. During orientation, you will learn everything you need to know about classes etc., and is basically a repeat of whatever is said at open house.

I'm heading to the open house on the 14th and we will be up there for like 5 days.. They told us about the rooming with a kid in a dorm situation, and they only do it on Monday thru Thursday, and there has to be like 2 weeks notice... UGH! I am going up there next thursday, so it will be cutting too close to the flights and such so I won't be able to stay in a dorm, but I am mainly going up there to ask questions and get HUMAN answers and get familiar with the campus--Ive never seen it anyways and Ive already decided thats where I want to go. The only thing at this point that would deter me from enrolling is if I HATE the school when I visit...

If you've never been to the campus, open house is more than a perfect time to get a feel for it. This way, you get to see what its like during the year with the bustling student crowds walking down Comm Ave etc., unlike at orientation when of course everyone's on break. I am almost positive that you will love it here.
