Reconsideration ?

<p>so, i didnt get into main campus but i got into altoona.</p>

<p>i was pretty disappointed, and psu is the only place i wanna go. im determined to go to UP next year.</p>

<p>therefore, i e-mailed the admissions consulor and asked for reconsideration.
he said they dont give out reconsideration, unless you have extenuating circumstances.</p>

<p>i do, (and they happen to be pretty personal so i wont share them) and i told him. he asked me to send an e-mail explaining everything in thorough detail and asked if i had any friends/family that could e-mail him as well.</p>

<p>i plan to write a very lenghty letter explalining everything. my cousin is gonna write me a letter too (she was valedictorian @ Villanova U last year and is an attorney @ Wachovia) as well as my really good friend eric (a current PSU UP freshman).</p>

<p>does anyone happen to know anything about reconsideration? the guy said he was going to re submit my application and it would go under review by a committee in Jan. so, do most people that get reconsidered get in? that would just be AWFUL to be rejected ... TWICE.</p>

<p>I would think it's a case by case thing. It's worth going for it even if you risk getting rejected again. Sounds like the admission rep gave you a good opening.

<p>Yea. . at this point there is nothing you can loose. I know people who have gotten in based off reconsideration, and people that have gotten rejected based off of it. It really depends on the issue.</p>

<p>2 of my friends did excatly what you did more than two times, and they got rejected all of those times. But it is always worth the try!</p>
