<p>I really want to do the Residence Hall open house, but all of them say full until the 18th of March. I really wanted to go earlier than that (IUB's the last college I haven't visited and I want to make my decision soon). If someone's been to one of these before, do you think it would easy to just walk into the open house and pretend I belong? They don't check or anything do they? Kind of a weird question I know, but I really want to go earlier.</p>
<p>Not a weird question at all. When we did a standard campus visit last August, the residence hall tour was cancelled, so I don’t know how easy it would be to just tag along. We did have to check in for the admissions session and campus tour, but I think it would have been pretty easy to “sneak” into one of the campus tour groups. If you are considering Monday, March 4 as an option, we registered for the Red Carpet day including the residence hall tour, but we probably will not attend. Instead, my daughter will likely do a HOST program that day, where she shadows a student. So maybe you can take our place…</p>
<p>There are also often some no-shows, so you may get into the Res Hall tour on the day of if you ask admissions.</p>
<p>Thanks guys. The day I wanted was actually full when I registered, so I ended up just choosing a Discover IU day and then signing up for Connect With Kelley the day after. It should work out alright. I didn’t realize stuff would fill up so fast. Do you think there’s any reason for me to sign up for a late red carpet day if I do discover IU and connect with Kelley?</p>
<p>I would say you’d get your bases covered if you do both of those events. Connect with Kelley includes an optional tour of the Kelley LLC, which you’d get to see McNutt, which is pretty representative of the residence halls. I would recommend doing that.</p>
