***** Reed College Class of 2019 RD *****

From what I keep hearing, it seems highly unlikely that anyone will be accepted off the waitlist.

So I had posted on this site that Reed never gave my daughter an answer on her application. She submitted an application (after receiving lots of mail and email from Reed) well before the deadline but apparently somehow they claimed that they never received my daughter’s transcript even though her counselor said that it was sent twice. They finally sent an email acknowledging the receipt of the transcript the beginning of March. At that time in the email they said it was not to late to receive the transcript but that the decision on her admission might be late. Then half way through April she emailed them again and at that time they said they were still working on her application. Well as a final update, here we are nearing the end of May and she never heard anything back from Reed. Nether an admission, rejection, or waitlist, nothing. I wonder if we can get a refund on our application fee. It’s all good because she is totally committed to going to Rice anyway. I can’t imagine any school she would chose ahead of it even if she was admitted to every college in the country. But be warned about the admission process at Reed, it seems not to be run very smoothly. She applied to over 20 colleges but Reed was the only one were there was a problem.

Do they charge application fee?

Yow guys it’s almost June! Have any of you heard back? I haven’t heard anything not even a “rejection/closing of waitlist” persay. I received one from UChicago but none from this school.

I really really really really hope Reed college gets some of us out!

I just talked to an admissions counselor and they told me that the list has not been closed, nor will it be closed soon. Apparently they will let the students who are getting off the waitlist know, and those who are not by the end of July. So we are golden guys! Maybe… Idk… I don’t know if I have moths or butterflies in my belly!

got an email from admissions yesterday notifying me that i’d been released/let go from the waitlist. i hope there are people who will get better news than that but at least it looks like they’re starting to go through the review/reject or accept process.
