Regent vs. Acceptance

Does getting a Regent invitation mean getting accepted by UCB? How is regent scholarship related to the admission office of UCB?

yes, a regents invitation from berkeley means that you've been accepted to berkeley. when you go to interview, they will tell you "congrats, you've been accepted to berkeley" as they shake your hand.

Regardless, I hear that you find out of admission before they even send out regents letters anyway.

do you think if i emailed one of the admissions officers they'd tell me if i got accepted?

I doubt it. I'm pretty sure even the lowest of Berkeley admissions personnel has better things to do than to tell an eager student her admissions status. If you got Regents, you can breathe a sigh of relief. If not, just wait until March 27th like everyone else.

@ sherwelthlangley: actually, the regents "letters" are sent out via email, and those happened about 2 weeks ago around valentine's day. i can't remember if they ever did send an actual (physical) letter.

they didn't

really? I got a physical packet from Cal in addition to the email. O_O

So did I. It doesn't really contain any valuable information that you can't find on-line.

oh i did too
forgot sorry!
