Regents Waiver at UGA

My cousin received a letter about this waiver for OSS, but her status is low, so she wonder if this is legit and offered to her, or it is just something sent to every OSS.

Here is what is says:
the one UGA scholarship provides$1500 per year, plus a Regents Waiver which is approximately $16,312 for the current academic year. the value of the Regent Waiver and the One UGA Scholarship would have totaled $ 17,812 in 2008. Tuition has not been set for 2009, but the Regent Waiver will be difference between the tuition charged for in-state students and out-state students.
both your One UGA Scholarship and Regents Waiver may be renewed for three additional academic years of undergraduate study or until the completion of your bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first. you must maintain a cumulative UGA grade point average of at least 3.0. the four year value of this scholarship exceeds $ 70,000.
here's an example of the value of your scholarship if you were attending UGA this year:
Estimated cost of UGA 08-09 30770 less value of Regents Waiver 16312
less one uga scholarship 1500 total remaining cost to attend uga 12958

She typed it over the internet to me to confirm if it is offered to her. So, is it?

i assume so. It does exist, and isn’t a scam, if that is what you’re asking.

I just wanted to confirm that it is offered to her, not just something sent to every OSS applicants. I was reading something which says the waiver is only offered to students with very high status, but her status is really low. 1500/2400 SAT. But she is only here for 2 years.

well im instate, so i have no idea :/

I just know it exists. :D

thanks anyways lol. I hope it is!! Only way she will be able to afford UGA. I will be attending Emory, so it will be nice if we can both go to Georgia.

any of you UGA OSS gotten this letter as well?
