Registration for Spring Semester

Malanai: Right link. Wrong Day. Or maybe I’m thinking there might be a planned all-nighter or two?

Malanai, my son is the same time, around the same amount of AP credits.

I think there’s something going on in his engineering class this week. I don’t know that he’s going to have a one on one advising session.

Engineering is pretty set in stone what you take each semester, other than choosing what he wants for core curriculum courses.

I am curious how they are going to handle the “block lifting” in dealing with a classroom full of students.

I’m guessing the registering on the myBama site will be similar to what we experienced when choosing rooms last spring. Am I correct on this?

You log on during your assigned time and add/drop classes like they did during Bama Bound?

Looks like a lot of the professors will be TBA still then, so I assume kids will be able to do some tweaking once classes open up and professors are assigned.

Thanks for any input.

Montegut: Registration for spring classes is similar to what your son did during Bama Bound. Regarding professors, my son said last night that some departments wait until late November/early December to make their assignments. Also, even after registration, departments can add classes. The Honors College has done that in past semesters.

Before son’s class in Intro. to Mech. Engr. ended in late Sept., the professor asked the class to draw up a tentative spring schedule, which was then approved by the teacher. In son’s case, we thought it would be better to ask the professor for additional guidance regarding taking on a heavy spring schedule. The private meeting with the professor resulted in a more balanced schedule for my son, who is a semester ahead due to AP/DE credits. She also helped outline the remaining 3 and a half years of his ME curriculum.

Malanai, my son registers Oct 27th also. He brought in 38 credits. He has an advisor appt for Thursday morning. He has completed his worksheet. Hopefully, everything will go well. He thought he had an appt today but it was actually Nov 4th!!! He freaked!!! He finally found someone to help him. Keep your fingers crossed…He hopes to be on at 7am on Oct 27th.

Where do they get the worksheet? Will it be handed out in class?

Do the kids have to have their course days/times selected by the time they complete the worksheet, or just the courses they plan to take?

Montegut: Here are the links for the registration worksheet…

Thanks for the link, momreads. This looks like the worksheet son did during Bama Bound, so he should be able to fill it out just fine. I assume they’ll give him this in class, but just in case, I’ll forward him the link. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the update! D will be registering on Monday!
