If you people still doubt it, I can take a picture of myself holding up the diploma. There’s really no reason to be so uncertain of the validity of my posts. Why would I admit to attending the inferior school in public? Frankly I’m a working professional at the moment and don’t have the leisure nor the motivation to ■■■■■.

Regardless, I don’t see why this scenario is so far-fetched. I guarantee that there are a lot more FSU alum that secretly regret their decision than you might think. I’m one of the few that’s openly vocal about it. Plus I’m on a message board for Christ’s sake, why should I care what’s gonna happen to me here? If the mod wants to ban me for my opinion, it’s just further evidence of the growing fascist ‘community’ CC is slowly developing into.

I’m glad to see all the Seminoles entertained by this thread. Let’s keep entertaining the Noles for the next 6 months or so. They need it. It’s going to be a long football season for them! ;)

If your argument is based solely on academics then it is far too extreme in my opinion. FSU is very good school, and one of the best values in Higher Education. It is pretty much a Top-100 instition and is the co-flagship university in Florida.

Now if your talking solely about athletic excellence and what it must of been like to attend UF as an undergrad during our amazing run then I can somewhat understand your perspective.

Just remember athletics are cyclical. When I was attending UF, Zook was stinking up the joint and the University of Miami reigned supreme. Back in the 90’s FSU ran the show. Just be patient the Seminoles will be back eventually.

Wow. Does anyone realize how many Noles there are that turned down UF who DON’T regret their decision at all?

People put too much emphasis on UF. Sure it’s ranked a little higher than FSU. But FSU is still a really, really good university. And if you really hated it that much then I think you would have been miserable at any university. Get over it and be grateful.

Now if this were a post with someone who went to UNF rather than UF I would understand. But FSU is a great place, so get over it?

And for the record, Tallahassee is a better city than Gainesville any day.

What about surgery? Being a Gator trapped in a Seminole “body” is pretty serious stuff. Maybe go to Shands Hospital and see if they can help–they’ve probably had cases like this before. You could get his whole thing off your chest once and for all.

Gainesville = The ultimate college town - the locals cater to the students far more than what can be found in Tally. Without UF this place would be another Lake City.

Tallhassee = A great college town, has the state capitol, and also is the home to the only HBCU in the State University System in Florida. The Tallahassee locals do not appreciate the FSU students as much as the Gainesville residents. Having said that both offer the tradition experience.

Both offer amazing athletics, strong Greek Life, a plethora of restuarants & movie theaters, and serious connections. Neither are commuter schools and both have strong graduate & professional programs.

While I have always thought Gainesville is a cool college town I have heard a bunch of complaints from some kids that say there’s just nothing to do.

I mean, Gainesville is in the middle of nowhere and when its hot it feels like a sauna and it’s basically a swamp. In my opinion Tally is really pretty, and it’s bigger so there’s more stuff to do.

College towns are fun but personally I don’t know if I’d be able to go 4 years in a purely college town. It differs for everyone though.

Many people have said FSU is prettier. I know we’re not really talking about aesthetics. But I’ve always thought that north Florida is very pretty, more creeks and hills and trees and what not.

Regret?
When surveyed-FSU
98% of seniors would attend this institution if they started over again -see link below -if you do google some you can find UF’s NSSE results too and they are in the 90’s too, but not higher- so i say debunked-
[College Portraits - Florida State University - Student Satisfaction](http://www.collegeportraits.org/FL/FSU/satisfaction)

I would say as a whole: most FSU Alumni are very happy with their choice. As you all know football is a way of life in Florida, and I can guarantee that once the Noles start winning again you will see less and less of this. It is football/basketball envy and nothing more.

As a whole UF & FSU advocates have a strong relationship. During the 90’s things were pretty heated between the fan-bases, but now they have a very close working relationship. FSU has a serious alumni base and UF can not afford to pi$$ them off when it comes to state appropriations. They basically have the state government on lockdown.

“While I have always thought Gainesville is a cool college town I have heard a bunch of complaints from some kids that say there’s just nothing to do.”

That is a myth plain and simple. UF has over 800 student organizations for the students to partake in. Gainesville also has a number of state parks, and we also have Lake Alice which is located on campus. We have 5 performing arts venues, 2 university owned museums, 3 student gyms, and the best athletic department in the country. In addition, we have the best career services according to Princeton Review, and UF Alumni are renown for going out of their way to hire their own. UF is also very close to Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa and the beaches are only a short distance away.
