P.S. Any current Stanford/Duke/Berkeley/Chicago students would like to read my admissions essay? It's pretty hook-ish.

OH P.P.S You guys could recommend some schools for me too :):)

i think they defer a large number, so by all means take more swings, but i would fix your essays

thanks for the reply:) who’s ‘they’ and how would you know what my essay’s about without having read it?

they meaning upenn, and essays all you can do to improve apps at this point, which is why i brought them up, not because i know what theyre like

oh ok I guess I’ll be making some tweaks to my essay

same boat as you, rejected ED to wharton

i’d put all of them at a reach, except berkeley which is a low reach (unless you’re in-state…in which case match). write some great essays and just hope for the best.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1032344-low-uw-gpa-chances.html

bump for chances :)

You look like a really solid candidate, especially in your ECs. It’s difficult applying as an international, but I’d say you have a good chance at Berkeley and maybe a reach for Chicago, Duke and Stanford. Your math and writing SAT scores are a little on the low side, so it’s good you’re retaking them.

what’s your GPA/rank?

school does not rank and only gives out IB scores per semester

I wouldn’t recommend Berkeley unless you actually live in california. I know chinese people think berkeley is a great school, but that’s mainly their graduate programs. Undergrad at berkeley is rather weak

really??? ah well, I applied already. The deadline was Nov 30.

What schools would you recommend for my course? Thanks :)

any other recommendations?

Scores aside (although they are rather below average for top schools) I would recommend Northwestern if you are into chicago and USC if you are into California. Your ECs sound good and you can be very successful at these two very good schools.

i’m retaking my sats again:) so hopefully I’ll be going up!

thanks for the recommendations! defintely considering those as well

guys how much of a reach is Duke for me?
