Religion with Notre Dame

<p>Just got rejected from Notre Dame.</p>

<p>Had a question though: How big of an impact is the identified religion when applying here? I made a mistake on mine... When asked if I was Catholic, I marked "Yes" but then when it asked for my perish name I put United Methodist Church........... Methodist isn't Catholic.... yeah my mistake but that's what it is haha</p>

<p>Could a mistake like that be something that would have impacted my chances of getting in? Did they see me as a bad liar or something? I honestly thought Methodist was like the same thing as Catholic... mom told me after I submitted that they're different....</p>

<p>I don’t think it would affect your application. My son’s high school messed up his transcript, leading to a discrepancy between what he self-reported and what they reported to them. Notre Dame apparently overlooked the discrepancy, as they accepted my son. It was a much bigger deal than your inconsistency.</p>
