Hi,

I'm very excited to be a part of the class of 09 at McGill next year. I got my residence placement and I have a single in RVC. Now, this wasn't my first choice but I'm not too upset about it.

I was, however, thinking about putting in a request to change residences on Sept 15 which is the earliest that you can do so. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following. What are the chances of being able to change to the rez I'd prefer to be in (Douglas)? Is it worth changing residences after all of the orientation activities have taken place?

I've been at an all-girls school for six years and I was kind of looking forward to a new environment, which I know McGill will be regardless of what residence I'm in. So for anyone who has lived in RVC, what is it like? Did you find it hard to meet people from outside RVC? What makes RVC a good place to be?

Thanks for your help,
-Hilary

well i haven't lived in rvc but i have changed residences.. frosh has absolutely no relation to residences, so that's really nothing. your chances are better than you'd think. i was in mcconnell and when i went to change i was offered places in solin and douglas but then i waited a bit and got a room in new rez.

You received your residence assignment already? I thought it was supposed to be 2-3 weeks after July 14th.

Where do you live? Hopefully I'll receive mine soon; I'm dying to know where I'll be staying!

It's 2-3 weeks after June 15th. But still that's really soon. Did you receive it in the mail? I'm so excited now!

Wow, I meant to say June 15th and somehow I wrote July 14th. Guess I'm not with it today! :p

I just sent an e-mail to the residence department, but I doubt they'll tell me anything.

Some of my friends called and told me that they were telling you if you called. I live in Toronto and I called this number: 514-398-6368

You need your student #.
