Resume for Summer Seminar

I’m putting a resume together for the summer seminar, but I have a problem. I have good content for all parts of the resume…but I don’t really have any academic achievements other than being on deans list. Should I just list deans list?

Thanks in advance!

What other kinds of academic achievements are there?

My son listed a lot there - NHS, college classes (dual enrollment), AP classes & scores, his ACT and PSAT scores, his rank, GPA, etc. If I recall correctly, the components they ask you to break it down into are Academic Achievements, Athletic Achievements, and Civic/Leadership/Work Experiences. So he also listed any academic clubs/organizations - math team, Academic Decathlon, and Academic Team.

Some of this you may have put somewhere else, but if they’re impressive (ie you have good ACT scores), and since you have the room on this application (unlike the WP and Navy SS applications), then why not?

I am currently filling out the application as well.
Some academic achievements I am including are various academic contests such as Speech, Geography, Math, Science Olympiad that I have placed in.

Also I included attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security as an Academic Achievement

Does anyone here know if the summer seminar application is able to be updated after it is submitted? Particularly the resume.

Okay got it, looks like I’ll be able to fill that up nicely then. For some reason I was under the impression that it was awards, etc. directly from the school.

Liberator45, from what I understand, once you submit, you can make changes/additions in writing. The address is at the bottom of the application page.

Last year my son was able to fax updates to his counselor at AF. Keep in mind though, that these counselors are swamped right now with applications for the class of 2014, and that this may not be at the top of their priority list. He did send updates, but never received any confirmation of them, nor did they show up ever online. However, he found the same to be true with the actual application process - that he would have to call to confirm an update was received and put into his application, but that once entered online, nothing new would show up there.

Does anyone have the link to the summer seminar application? It is hard to navigate through the AFA website and I thought I reached the page that would have the link on it, but it doesn’t seem to have it. Unless it isn’t up yet, I don’t think I have the right website.

A little effort goes a long way.

If you search for Summer Seminar on the academy admissions page you should be able to find it directly from the site.
