I've been reading a book on college application called Acing the College Application by Michele Hernandez, a former assistant director of admissions of Dartmouth. She said that including a resume in your application makes you seem pompous and sure of yourself. She also said that no teenager should have a resume at this point in his life. However, I already made a resume and have been updating it every month. I don't want to not include it but I feel like I should listen to her because she used to be a reader of college apps for an Ivy League school. For all the people out there that have already gotten into college, did you include a resume and should I listen to this author?

I read that book and I didn’t like it. It’s too gimmicky. As for your question, I don’t think you should send the traditional resume for jobs, because you’re applying to college, not a job. Your application pretty much is your resume - it has all the important stuff that colleges want to get from you. So I would not include a resume, simply because I think there’s no need to. If you do attach something, ask yourself first if it’s not already in your application.

I have to agree with dchow, most likely anything you would put on a resume would already be somewhere on the CommonApp, so it would simply be repetitive. ADCOM’s probably don’t want to read unnecessary information.
