retail jobs

this maybe off topic, but im looking for a retail job for this year to save up for college and other things.

What are the higher paying retail companies/ places that you know of that pay one to three bucks above minimum wage???

Basically i am asking for the highest paying companies, and ideas based on places you guys have worked at. I have a great resume, and really don't want to be working the same old minimum wage again this year.

It would be great if I could get some company names, thx.

I hear that T-Mobile pays relatively well. The base salary is not much, but commissions are very high, and with their rate plans and phone prices being very competitive, and their services and features being amongst the best in the market, they have a very low rate of churn (which is basically the proportion of new customers to customers canceling service with T-Mobile) I think for a HS grad that may be one of the best retail jobs, due to how lucrative this can be around the holiday season.

A friend of mine has worked there, and in the past has earned well over $2000 a month in commissions alone, as well as receiving bonuses through giftcertificates.com in excess of $1000 per month. I think there is an earning potential of about 50k annually if you are a good salesperson and can yield a lot of sales. This of course was in NYC, and I would expect less commissions in areas without as much foot traffic. I still think you should look into it.

It's a very big company, and there is always room to grow, even when you go to school, there are plenty of corporate opportunities with the company, and if you work throughout college can be very relevant work experience.

What, if any, experience in retail do you have? That will affect your pay. If you are good at selling things, look for retailers that work off of commission.
